I don't know what Russian families you've visited, but I have never seen anything like that, that is a huge embarrassment, if that young woman behaved that way in my house or any other Russian family, she would get her a** kicked. I'm not saying that Russian families I know of never get into fights, but that's just a whole other level of dysfunctionality. Maybe it's because I grew up in America and most of the families moved here before the mid 90s, and maybe mannerisms have degraded since then back in Russia. Or maybe it's because I grew up around religious families, and maybe it's just the irreligious people who act this way?

But besides the Ukrainians there is the US State Department, there is Radio Liberty (American radio for Russians), there is Jennifer Psaky)), there are CNN and BBC, and there are many other things on the state side. And in the leadership there are no immigrants from the USSR and Russia. ))
