Israel is not going to nuke anyone, and nuking is not even guaranteed to end any regime. They have great defensive power, but little means to project that power beyond their borders, especially in a sustained, multi-month or year engagement. They can lob missiles and air strikes, and send ground troops into areas immediately beyond their borders, but that is all.

It seems like historically US has pushed Iran towards Russia. Similarly, Stalin’s territorial claims from Turkey pushed Turkey towards US.

In an unrelated note, the US confirms the remnants of ISIS are now in a protected area under their control, having been rooted out from the cities to the west last year.

Just heard a blurb Syrian air assets are hitting ISIS positions west of Deir E Zor. Started yesterday it seems.

Not with the current crop of idiots in Washington DC.

It wasn't beer, it was wine. He wanted some wine and it was after hours so he stole the BMD and crashed it into the store. If that's what you're talking about.

Russians can be very crazy at times. I think they're emotionally high strung people.

There was a US spy plane following the delivery from Russia.

Probably more S-300s/Pantsirs or better. The S-500 just started serial production but there were several systems built for testing and they're functional. On the one hand it would be total overkill considering what they can do but it would be a great opportunity to test them.

We need to consider surface to surface missiles too. Ship killers. Syria has some Bastion systems already that fire the Yahont/Onyx ASMs. Shipping more?

A rumor is afloat that Syrians have the almost intact wreckage of several of the attacking missiles.

When I think of America I've got a slight cognitive dissonance))

On the one hand, as I watch a lot of American’s movies and series, I like common people.
I completely get and appreciate your sense of humor! Social culture seems very close and understandable on some basic level (when you’re happy, feel pain, fall in love, feel desperate, lonely, etc.). There is no feeling of foreignness at all.

On the other hand, when it comes to political issuers between our countries, I often feel like I’m in the Wonderland, where is white is black and vice versa.
