About the missile strikes.

Common concensus is that 3 targets in Syria were hit. America and France say 103 missiles were fired. We can take that as factual. What's foggy is how many were taken down by air defenses. There's a lot of poor quality video out there of missiles being shot off and pictures of destruction.

Some videos clearly show intercepts. Some show video of missiles self destructing after losing lock on their target and running out of fuel. The main issue is these videos are from LOCAL areas around the targets. There seems to be little if any from the paths the attacking missiles took through the Syrian air defense.

People are comparing data from past strikes to what we have for this current event. The amount of destruction and in some cases aural clues such as the sound of the missiles arriving do not even come close to the amount said to have hit the target. The research center was supposedly hit by 76 missiles. No video so far seen has been able to verify that many hit.

Suffice to say that Syrian air defense took down a significant number of incoming missiles. At least 50%if not more.

Things are still developing.

People are making a big deal out of nothing. When Trump hit Syria back in april 2017 and dropped the MOAB on Afghanistan his base complained for about a minute. It's hypocrital for them to be triggered by this event when it was of a smaller scale, plus it had the support of both the UK and France.

Russian targets were not affected at all.

Last year was 50 missiles at an airbase so this is double that in treasure squandered. Those Tomahawks are more than a million each. I couldn't care less about the orange ones sychophants out here. What scares me is all the other actors who would just love a conflict between Russia and us. I will not be told the Saudis or anyone else are our friends. We don't have friends in this country either as far as I'm concerned.

Russian export of farm equipment is booming.

Russia makes great heavy equipment of all kinds but why the hell can't they build a good family car? It's not really that hard.

That much I agree with. Anyway one looks at it, it's a waste of taxpayers money, and I'm saying that as someone who is no fan of Assad.

Making up facts like a good little Russian would do. Why give it away for free when you could be paid for this? Every paragraph you wrote is wrong.

That missile barrage cost 33 cents per American.

In other news Putin says if we strike Syria again, its going to be bad and he really means it. Next time he will put us on double bad relations status. He will strike fear into the hearts of Americans by telling Russians that NATO is about to invade and to get ready for war.

They attempted missiles strikes on three airfields and a commercial airport, but all of the missiles were shot down. The research facility that was hit repeatedly was no longer a chemical weapons factory. In fact, it had last been inspected by OPCW 11/22/17 as part of the ongoing followup after the destruction of Syria's chemical weapons stockpiles. The overall attack was very brief and may have been called early for lack of success or due to technical problems with the cruise missiles. There is reportedly an internal investigation at DoD to assess the real effectiveness of the cruise missiles. They were defeated by 50-year old technology, but some suspect additional electronic counter measures were directed at the missiles.

The Syrian missile count is generally confirmed by the UK-funded SOHR. SOHR had also earlier contradicted the E. Ghouta chemical attack claim and confirmed the Russian/Syrian account that no chemical weapons were used.

I'm not willing to give a firm percentage of missiles shot down yet. We may never know exactly. The tech used was old and new. It appears the Pantsirs did their work well as part of the system of defense. There was not only those involved the Russian defense system involves many theatre level assets such as Berievs A-50 AWACS that can see everything flying for hundreds of miles. Syrian and Russian systems are working together, linked.

A lot of speculation is about but it seems the Russians and Syrians have quite an umbrella. They can now look at the results and find ways to improve the systems and on top of that it shows that Russian equipment is very capable.

One thing is sure, no Israeli or NATO aircraft is going into Syrain airspace lately.

Some specifics for the new sanctions on the US.

No more titanium for Boeing?

If not they better find some. Russia already has customers lined up in China.
