Well almost...but in my house no celery but green peppers with the onion.... never tomato soup but undrained canned diced tomatoes and a can of tomato sauce....seasoned with celery salt and pepper and bay leaf. Today I used the fire roasted diced tomatoes...it was perfect. Lacey I am sure yours is good, and I am sure there are many many variations.

My mom called that goulosh but I don't think there was celery or tomato soup in it.

Thanks elston. That does sound good. Do the fire roasted tomatoes add alot of flavor? Also, do you add the macaroni raw or cooked?

You boil the mac seperately (the minimum time--about 9 mins) and then drain well and add it to the sauce and if it has time to sit a little bit...that is good as the mac soaks up some of the juice and flavor....but its good straight from the pan as soon as its done. I used med size shell mac today or med size elbows are traditonal.

I happened to pick up the fire roasted tomatoes last time....I dont know that they are better....but I liked them....they were flecked with a little black as if roasted....and yes I think the flavor was ? richer. I used frozen green pepper this time cause I had it...and it worked great making an easy meal even easier. (When my sons were kids at home...this was one of two or three meals that everyone loved! )

We also called it goulash. I make it almost exactly like elston does. I cook the macaroni noodles before I add them to the rest. I think we had a big discussion some time back on how it was the same dish just with a different name and many variations.

Tonight will probably be tuna casserole with green beans instead of peas, since I'm all out of peas.
