We're heading out in a bit to have supper with daughter and her sig-other at their apartment in a little burg about 15 miles from here. She just adopted a new kitty, and wants us to come out and meet the newest family member. They're making a crockpot pot roast, and we're bringing twice-baked potatoes and a banana bread. Should be fun.

Default Breaking News

My homemade Texas chili turned out just right. It's spicy enough. Sometimes I surprise even myself. Just waiting for it to cool now while my cornbread gets done.

Fried potato sandwiches are a simple Great Depression meal that carried over in my family as they are well liked...

Slice in round slices about a 1/16 of an inch thick or a little thicker is OK...Fry or saute in oil of your choice. We us low heat in olive oil....Substitute as the meat on a sandwich....add onions, pickles, jalapenos, etc....We usually use mayo on them but sometimes I go with ketchup...When tomatoes are in season we add slice tomatoes to one too.

For dinner tonight I had BBQ pork loin in pulled format..Green beans seasoned with Irish potatoes, and whole kernel sweet corn...Most likely will finish off the pumpkin spice pudding to night or plunder the last jar of spicy peaches I see hiding in the back of the fridge...

You have not forgot about all the engineering changes I made to your tomato pie have ya....We were to make more pies today but I slept all day.....That is my story at the moment... that and didn't have any smoked pork chop to put in one...Think I getting some chives for the next one in lieu of the chopped green onions...maybe some leeks too...I promise I will not corrupt it with ground beef or turkey... Only high quality pork goes in my tomato pies...
