so it looks like my gas line for the heater failed inspection again. the inspector gave 1 approval and 1 failure. im not sure what the failure is for, ill wait and see what the plumber says. hopefully he can start it up, if not im probably another week away from getting the heater working. my decision to get that solar pool cover seems to be paying off.

last night we put the solar cover on after we swam, i unrolled it and my 10 year old daughter and 8 year old neighbor's son slowly pulled on the edges down the pool. whole procedure took about 1 minute.

Yay, that looks fantastic!

Our water has been hovering around 88 to 91 degrees since it's been so sunny and hot here, and I personally think that's very comfortable. Very refreshing.

I've been in that pool every single day! I LOVE IT!

I've had friends coming over lately too - I'm suddenly popular - LOL.

I've been very strict though about only having kids over if their parents are with them. No way am I going to start operating a babysitting service - with added risks - for free! I've had neighbor kids stop by and ask if they can go swimming and I always tell them "Have your parents call me - you're always welcome but you have to have your mommy or daddy with you." Never see them again.

thanks! 36 x 18 + that semi circle seating area at the end. you can actually stand all around the sides around the deep end which is nice. so a few people can sit on the bench there and more can stand around comfortably.

thats funny. most of our neighbors have pools so its not such a hot commodity here. but we are definitely having more people over now. my family was at someones house last night for a birthday party so no use of pool. though when my daughters got home around 745pm they asked to go in the pool.

water was 89 last night. which is a lot more impressive here where id say that is about 10 degrees warmer than if i didnt have it.

We haven't opened our pool yet. The pump and filter are connected and operational to keep the swamp monsters at bay, no heater, but the winter safety cover is still in place.

Not certain we will open it this year.

pretty much everyone i know with a pool opened early this year thanks to coronavirus lockdowns. lots of people asking about getting a pool. my wife has had a bunch of people reach out to her.

some people even dream that they could get one for this summer. not happening for an in ground pool at this point.
