I wonder if the Triad could maintain 2 large convention centers, 2 smaller convention centers, and a collessium though? Would that saturate the area? Now a business park with a small convention/banquet & hotel on site that be interesting to see.
Interesting numbers coming from the Steven Tanger Center. The Tanger Center has higher attendance numbers than DPAC had its first few years of opening. In addition the Tanger Center is drawing more people from the Triangle than DPAC drew from the Triad before the Tanger Center opened. In fact from outside of the Triad, the largest number of people attending the Tanger Center come from Raleigh/Durham despite the fact that they have DPAC in their backyard.
DPAC opened 15 years ago. The population of Raleigh / Durham has exploded since then.
The question is what is the percentage of folks attending Tanger Center shows local (Greensboro) versus outside the area ? I would guess it is mostly local.
Anyone have an updated map of where all these new things in downtown will be ? Be cool to see I think!
Definitely would be cool. In terms of restaurants, North Elm area near the Tanger Center needs more restaurants and the Southend. Most of the restaurants are concentrated between MLK dr and Market Street. There is a small cluster near the ballpark but I'd like to see more there.
Westin: Until there is cladding/design work (which I'm not even sure the garage/deck has), won't the skeleton framing for each floor look pretty much the same?

Somewhat. But I'd hope they would eventually clad the deck
