Looked like signs were coming down on Tavern 24 (former Fatz) on Woodruff Rd this morning. Fatz coming back?? Copper River Grill???
Anyone heard what's going on?

Just spoke to someone who knew someone who worked there. From what she said, they just up and closed the doors on them without anyone knowing today. Heard this second hand, or third, actually, but yes, they're closed.
How many things has that place been? Tavern 24, Fatz before that.. Stock Car Cafe before that.. I can't remember what was there prior to that.. Seems like that place winds up being overflow parking for Fuddruckers more than anything.

Tavern 24 was a concept that did not reach expectations. If it closed up recently and plans exist to convert it back to Fatz, filling a geographic void, conversion should occur quickly. If not, which it sounds like it is, Fatz finds itself losing business.
Fatz, Tavern 24, and Tablefields are all part of the same corporate family. That Woodruff location definitely used to be a Fatz, debuting somewhere around June 2012. I believe there was a Fatz on Congaree, but like a lot of regional chains, it can have more than one restaurant in the same city.
The new construction in Travelers Rest across from Wal-Mart is apparently going to be a Zaxby's (or maybe this is old news). I'm glad that TR has kept the chain restaurants off of Main Street, at least so far.

We moved here in 2003 and that Woodruff Rd. location was Fatz at that time. We used to like Fatz but they changed their menu and with that we quit going there. Never went to Tavern 24.

Sorry, I worded my post terribly. I meant that it was rebranded Tavern 24 last June. My fiancee's family loves Tavern 24, and I've been there a couple times with them. For my money, it's okay but nothing especially memorable.
