That was an interesting story about Patton. They have a fairly new location for their offices on Hwy 101 in Greer. Just down the road, the have cleared land with the Patton sign on it. I wonder if a DG is coming there as well??
DG also has started a new trendy concept that is growing rapidly called PopShelf that is targeting customers in urban and suburban areas.
They are popping up around Charlotte and Atlanta. Looks like they are in Aiken and Columbia(Harbison) in SC so far. They seem to be going in big box centers like where you would find a Five Below. I'm sure it will not be long until Greenville and the upstate has some.

Panda Express looks very close to opening. It was full of cars and someone was in the drive-thru, like practice runs and training. Love their food.

Popeyes has a good product, especially in legacy markets such as Atlanta, Florida and the Northeast. However some of the newer Upstate locations have apparently had some quality control issues which hopefully they will overcome. Meanwhile, they have just announced a major expansion for Popeyes with some 200 new locations, including a new 2 level flagship store in Times Square.

Speaking of chicken, if you like chicken fingers, then Slim Chickens is now open in Charlotte and Columbia. No word yet on any Upstate locations.

Has anyone mentioned the soon to open Buc-ees in Florence? I haven’t been to one, but I hear they are really something to see. 120 gas pumps and lots of merchandise. Where else can you buy a bucket of bacon fat?

That store is in a good location. Not far from 385, making access for travelers pretty easy.
