I don't know about the OP but I am so tired of looking at the depressed looking hair styles. Not all faces look good with long hair.

This short, platinum pixie cut has taken ten years off my face at LEAST and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

Some people really can pull of short short hair. I actually look a lot better - and very feminine - with very short hair, as opposed to long hair (been there, done that, wore me out).
Looking good. About the same length as mine. I hate long hair. I once had mine down to my waist then I started getting headaches. My hair has been short since. The shorter the better is what I say. And yes it takes at least 10 years off.

I don't know about you but when I see an older grey-haired woman with long stringy hair I want to take a pair of scissors to it.

LOL I hear ya, sister! If I chose, I could be that older gray haired woman with long hair (though mine is so crazy thick it wouldn't be stringy - it would look like a bird's nest) but I choose short and extremely sassy instead.

Extremely sassy.

Thank you - I am LOVING IT!!!!!!

A general rule of thumb in my opinion is this - if you have a face that looks good when you pull your hair back in a ponytail or bun (basically what I did nearly every day when I had long hair), you can pull off short hair. What a relief short hair is over that high maintenance mane of mine! And all I have to do to look extremely feminine is spike it up a bit and put on some red lip gloss and some dangly earrings. WOOHOOO!

Interesting, my hair is high maintenance when it's short. It's getting length back again thank goodness, and the curls are settling much better.

You look very nice Kathryn! I would love to cut mine and let it go gray too, but I'm so afraid of looking like those manly women who live all around me. LOL Honest to goodness, there are at least 4 or 5 middle aged women on my block who have the shorter hair and from the back especially they look just terrible. Not very feminine at all.

As others have already mentioned, I also find long hair easier to keep. Washing it is a bear, but then I can go a couple or 3 days doing nothing but brushing it or pulling it into a ponytail. I had short hair about 20 years ago and I had to wash, blow dry, and use a curling iron every single morning or it looked awful.

I can't do short hair. It would draw attention to my Roman nose. Plus I have a really thin face, which I don't want attention drawn too.

Short hair is better for girls who actually have feminine faces.

You need a perfectly shaped face and really fine features to be able to pull off super short hair. There's a reason why short cuts look great on people like Charlize Theron and Halle Berry and look like crap on most other women.
