Actually, don't. Bananas, along with apples, figs, prunes, and raisins are recommended to relieve constipation. There's an old wives tale that bananas cause it, but that only applies to green unripened ones.
What is the rest of your diet like?
Bananas always make my poo mushy and hard to get out. Not as bad as some foods, but I definitely don't eat them when I'm constipated.
Well usually I would just go once a day, and now because of the medication is is 2 to 3 times. The part about it I don't like is that it has been causing wear and tear and I bleed a little sometimes. It's because the butt is going wearing out from going too much cause of the medication and I have to go back to going once a day, in order for the butt to not be worn out so much.
What is your
1) Weight
2) Height
3) Eating habits
4) Dinner time
5) Waking time??
If you alter some of these, life will start flowing like lava.
I haven’t read through everything here, but I try to avoid laxatives, because my mother became so dependent on them that she couldn’t “go” without them. This is probably TMI, but she had to go to the doctor, who had to “manually” relieve her.
What works for me is:
hummus
whole-wheat pasta
orange juice, with the pulp, preferably fresh-squeezed.

The main thing is the condition of the feces. Is it black and hard? Then it is dried out and the body is having difficulty moving it out. If it is brown and soft, then you probably need to cut back on some of the measures since your system is overactive. I would consult a neighborhood pharmacist.
Beans and prunes the magical fruit,
the more you eat the more you poop,
The more you poop the better you feel,
Eat your beans and prunes these very days,
And you'll love to enjoy your happy ways.....
Did you make that up? Here's how I learned it - when I was a kid~~~~~~
Beans beans the magical fruit <beans really aren't a fruit>
The more you eat the more you toot
The more you toot the better you feel
So let's have beans with every meal.

I discovered that when I take fish oil EVERYTHING inside gets well lubed. The jury may be out on what it does for your heart but results have proven that it's good for your skin and many other bodily functions.
We use home made salsa when we are camping as it seems we are always dehydrated. It needs to be from Jalapenos or hotter. Works like a charm if you can take the heat.

There are several versions/variations of that poem.
