That seems quite reasonable given inflation.

Perhaps the raising of the rent (arguable) but $2,400 for a 900 square foot apartment is in no way, shape or form anywhere close to reasonable. Unless maybe its right on the beach in Hawaii.

Extremely reasonable in many locations.

lol, ok, sure it is. You cherry picked the most expensive area in the entire world. The average rent for a 2 bedroom apartment in the US is $1,295. As I said, $2,400 for a 900 square foot 2 bedroom apartment is in no way, shape or form close to reasonable. Thanks though.

Found the landlord. They're condescending, nasty people.

Have you already forgotten that your post was about housing costs?

Or perhaps you think that housing is the only expense?

Oh my bad. NY is the 3rd most expensive city in the world for rent. My point still stands...

Rent is what the market will bear. This is true everywhere. Landlords don't care what anyone thinks rent should cost or if anyone thinks "it's not worth it or not reasonable". They will find renters if they offer the property for the same or a bit less than a comparable place will rent for. Location matters, quality matters, people's opinions don't.
