Were it not for corporate greed (raising the prices because they can way above any increased costs), oil company greed, and landlord greed inflation would be so much lower. The landlords get richer, the tenants get poorer. Hopefully some local and state leaders will wake up and say enough is enough!
Facts right here, agreed

This is the way it's supposed to work.
Oh no socialism, we can't have that! Everything is working just fine under our capitalist system, everyone is happy and our quality of life has never been better. God bless USA

Are there any stats yet on the percentage of people who failed to pay rent during the pandemic who have made restitution? Sounds like the tenants are the ones getting richer in this scenario not the landlords.

Pales in comparison to those millions who were evicted by greedy landlords and now homeless on the streets

I miss some things about living there (culture, architecture), but the cost of living/taxes, crime, lousy weather, and traffic in Chicago makes Las Vegas a better place for me at this time.
One of the happiest days of my life was when I left Chicago for good. I was only there for an education, but was glad to depart.

I still think Chicago is one of the most beautiful cities I have seen and feel fortunate to have spent a lot of time there. I wish I lived closer to visit more often (when the weather is nice). I'm not too keen to fly much now and hate the drive from Vegas to Chicago. Anything more than one day in a car is no longer my idea of a good time, lol.

Define greed in context of what you just said.

Greed as in landlord companies extorting people for profit. Higher demand + low supply = high prices, this only benefits greedy landlords and corporations, not your average American. These landlords don't care about people struggling and will just throw them out on the street. If landlords cared more about their tenants than they do about $$$, then we wouldn't be having any of these problems.

Got it. So a tenant who takes on no risk whatsoever in acquiring a property, is provided a property to rent out, and is choosing to pay a rent amount under no duress is being extorted? Interesting. And what should the rent amount be and who determines that?
