you can also thank the government for the cost of batteries and fluids, (oil, etc)...... oil used to be 49 cents a quart.. was buying new batteries for $24.99... every car on my lot got a new battery..... the good ol days... heck gas was 70 cents a gallon...

The purchase isn't going to happen today. Seems I was assigned an early chore this morning I wasn't aware I'd have earlier on Sunday. Groan. So I'm off work all week once I get some sleep. Tomorrow the Mrs. needs me to drive her to Las Cruces for a doctor appointment. But Wednesday is wide open. Advantage goes to Rich Ford of Albuquerque. I called the Denver dealer this morning and got elevator music. On a hunch I called Rich Ford of Albuquerque and got a live person. Those FoMo-Co incentives that were to expire tonight! Fuh-get-about it! They'll be extended. I told her I need to rest today, have obligations tomorrow, but Wednesday I have all day. Albuquerque is a 3 1/2 hour drive from Alamogordo. That's much better than an 8 1/2 hour drive from here.

So we're looking at Wednesday for either Longmont Ford or Rich Ford. By offering their 2019 Ford Fiesta ST at low $18,000 prices they're both alive to me and viable dealers for me. Longmont not getting the phone gives advantage to Rich Ford right now.

Stay tuned. These cars are not only awesomely cool cars, they're also bonafide collectors items, too. Hang in there and we'll have a Fiesta ST purchase soon.

If I still lived out there, I’d buy your Kia. I still think you should keep it or resell yourself

Yes, I get that. I wish I could talk to my wife about my automotive needs. She's listened to Dave Ramsey for so long that trading the Kia in for a Ford is tantamount to treason against all common sense. I am really walking on automotive eggshells and I'm sharing this idea of trading in as my idea of what I want to do. She'll plan on doing something else on Wednesday. It is not a good situation and one that would force me to go rogue with my idea.

If you haven't already, switch out all your household bulbs with leds. Home depot has 8 packs of 60w Daylight leds for 9.44
They're in a brown package. My whole house is now led. Electric bill is down. It's brighter in here. Everything looks better.
They don't burn out.
I can run all 68 bulbs in my house for less than 1 regular bulb.

Not quite that good but almost. Normal thing is between 10 and 15 to 1.

If you factor in the cost of replacing incandescent bulbs it equals out.

Possibly. But that computation is quite complex. You have the much higher cost of LED bulbs to offset. And the life spans involved are long enough to get into the time value of money.

Anyway the 15 to 1 is probably sufficient to settle the course.

I paid about 1.18 or so per bulb for the leds. Last time I bought Incandescent bulbs it was about the same.
But the led bulbs last 21 times longer.

You can get incandescent 60 watts for under $0.50. Think I even saw a special at one of the hardware stores for $0.35.

You can also spend $5.00 or more for LEDs.

But the bottom line is the same. LEDs cost a bit more but save a lot of energy and electric costs and last much longer. There is a substantial savings whether it is 5X or 10X or 20X it is big.
