Only seven songs passed the test for 1977. Fleetwood Mac got my vote, only rock song but the Eagles did not make the cut. "Hotel California" has not aged well at all.
After participating in a number of these threads I have come to the conclusion that American has the absolute worst taste in music. David Soul actually had a number 1 hit? It must have been another year that I spent in a drug induced stupor, luckily.
Only thing worse that the music of the 70's were the clothes. I do hope that I die before bell bottoms, wipe lapel shirts, and platform shoes for men ever make a comeback....
Manfred Mann's Earth Band's "Blinded by the Light" is still awesome today. It blows away the original song by Bruce Springsteenk.
Rose Royce's "Car Wash" is a fine song. Mac's, too. And who doesn't like "Gonna Fly Now"?
The Eagles are one of the most overrated bands of all time. Joe Walsh rules, though. I much prefer James Gang and Joe's solo albums to all those Eagles songs stained by Don Henley's sh*tty vocals.

....And people think the 2014 poll was full of garbage. This was the year I graduated high school and a terrible year for #1's. Blinded By the Light and Dreams are by far the best of a bad lot.
"Rich Girl" and "Sir Duke," with "Dreams" not far behind!
Shaun Cassidy - Da Doo Ron Ron ??? That must be the s**ttiest thing ever.
