Do you guys really find these homes affordable based on your income? I just looked at the income guidelines for someone with my salary. There is no way I would pay that to rent. Are they crazy?

Lots of us are paying up to 75% of our pay just to rent. These are stabilized apartments remember, so it gives people some breathing room while they figure out this crazy life.

I currently pay $1300 for a studio in an old brownstone. It is updated but still very inconvenient. For $1600, I can get a brand new studio - with laundry! and bdg amenities at 461. For around $2000, a 1-bedroom. The 1BD may be pushing it a little bit, but I would still consider it given that rate would more or less be consistent for the duration of my lifetime.

Not yet, I interviewed; handed in all my documents and they said everything checked out. Then my employer told me that they had sent hr a verification letter.

Nothing else.

Aquarius, Vane What are the steps? what updated documents did you send last week?

I am so unclear about what the "steps" are :/
