Wow my number is 5,3XX. I guess my chances are gone. Thank you to everyone who updated.
Not @ all! People in the 20k range eventually get called. It may not be this year but, alot of people drop out or don't respond, so don't give up hope!
So much activity on this new lottery...but nothing about the 2018 & 2020 lotteries, which are still active. I sent papers in May (bank statements, taxes, employer letter/form, pay stubs, credit check permission...pet questions) and nothing. I assume it's a different batch of apartments, and I'm in a quasi-active section, but I wish I knew more...I was #1,0XX in 2018.

That's weird, because I had a much higher lottery number than you and I was contacted twice. (I rejected the lottery, as I lost interest).

Someone posted that they have over 2k apartments for rental in this lottery. If only 1 out of 4 applicants qualify or claim the apartment you would seem likely to have a chance. That holds even if only 1 out of 3 qualify. They should make it to the 6xxxs. Someone from a previous lottery said they got called and their number was in the 8xxx range.
In the old Stuy Town lotteries, there were very few apartments in the lower income bracket, which I think is 80%, actually. Those are actually a very good deal as well. I think the one bedrooms are around $1,500.

When you say very few, about how many, I am going for a one bedroom my number is under 300, and im pretty sure I'm in the lower income bracket. I sent in my paperwork but i am hoping i have a shot.

Are you saying that you responded to the current lottery, or the 2018 lottery?
If you sent in your paperwork, you have a shot!!
In the original lottery, which may be the one from 2018, I don't remember, supposedly 5,000 units in Stuy Town/Peter Cooper Village will be kept "affordable."
But of those, only 10% were in the 80% bracket and the rest were in the 165% bracket, which I personally do not count as affordable.
Plus, I believe those units were occupied, so there was a wait for people to move out.
Assuming you're in the 2018 lottery, you would be getting one of the coveted 10%, which rent for about $1,500. A great deal!
