We won’t. The US was at war for 20 years and gained a lot of knowledge and experience on treating gunshot and other trauma type experience on the battlefield. That knowledge gets passed around the medical community and people now stand a better chance or living today through some type of trauma that would have more likely killed them a few decades ago. You want to accurately judge gun violence for example compared to 1990, look at the non fatal shooting incidents year by year and see how they compare. Last year, they city only up-ticked slightly on homicides, but the amount of non fatal shootings were comparable to 2011 numbers when the homicide count was higher. That being said, the city has less shootings so far this year in general compared to last year.

Bail reform has certainly allowed for repeat offenders to do what they do best, the pandemic really mentally unhinged a lot people who were barely holding on to begin with and still haven’t recovered, and the subsequent post Floyd rioting has made people more emboldened to doing what they want even if it defies the law or social norms in general. The police are still doing their jobs with serious crimes but aren’t tackling quality of life issues anymore since there is no one wants to end up on the news for minor stuff.

My guess is that it is a combination of the above plus the incidents are getting publicized more, either by the media or people with cellphones.

The problem is real. The police, prosecutors, and really the entirety of the city and state governments have abdicated their responsibility to control crime in the name of political correctness. We all know what needs to be done, be we've elected an entire raft of idiots who refuse to do what's necessary. We need to get rid of them, and get a new crew who'll launch a real crackdown, and lock up immediately as much of the criminal class as possbile (and keep them locked up as long as possible.) It worked VERY well before, and will work again, if done correctly.

The crime rate in 2021 is highest since 2009-2010 like robberies, break ins, transit, assaults .

Harris was nothing in the '90.

But I'm talking about what happened in NYC. Look at what happened with crime in NYC from '94 to '12, and you'll see what has been, and could again, be done.

In 1990 Harris was hired as Deputy district attorney in alameda county California & she was known for trying juvenile defendants in Supreme Courts rather than juvenile courts. Also in 2017 Nyc recorded just 292 murders which was the lowest count since 1951. How did DeBlasio pull that off ?

Good question. You sound like you have all the answers. How did he pull it off? What exactly did deBlasio do?

I don't know why people blame the politicians, it's the compassionate liberals that vote and support these woke ideas. Any women I met in NYC, talks about being more alert and worried when they walk around at night because they acknowledge that the police can't help them and they can't rely on other men too.

If you're so compassionate about criminals then enjoy what you voted for.

I believe you are talking about the “ I only blow black guys to apologize for slavery” type liberals.
