Case closed. They would've done the same thing. And that woman whomever she is became completed unglued. No rational thought at all, just pure emotion. Just think, it's her job to represent people and vote. Scary thought.
So I suppose the speaker was lying when he texted a reporter that there would not be any votes at 8:30. But no biggie, because they pulled one over on the libs, amirite?

This was an appalling and disgusting lie and lack of integrity. And anyone who defends it obviously doesn't give a damn about democracy as long as their side wins as the repulsive Republican party has proven over and over and over all over the country. They are fine with lying and cheating and don't care that they ignore what voters actually want.

Yes it is normal, and attempts to demonize it are ludicrous. I'm sure your Satan guy is proud.

Haha! If y'all really believe that you're as looney as Alex Jones and David Duke.

It's not whaboutism at all. I am saying that using procedures to find loopholes is something politicians have done since Marbury vs. Madison. Hardly worth crying over.

This isn't about a simple procedural loophole though.

I'd be ashamed and appalled had Dems done this but as we've seen, Republicans have no shame whatsoever.

It is. The Republicans used a loophole to hold an early vote while Democrats were absent. They spent some of their political points.

The Democrats are now going to play this as if it is out of order, and will try to gain some political points.

Meanwhile, democracy is functional well as the Democrats will now make sure to simply always have enough members in the chambers to deny an override.

Then Republicans will say the presence of Dems is slowing down work getting done and they will try to score political points back.

Its tit for tat. Nothing new under the sun.

Except it's happening right before our eyes. Don't be blinded by the fact that it's happening in real time incrementally.

That's not a loophole. It was a case of "Oh most of the Dems are at a 9/11 ceremony, let's hold the vote now even though we said we wouldn't." That didn't involve any sort of procedural maneuvering based on obscure rules or anything of the sort.

Whataboutism had been normalized and rationalized in unfathomable levels in the past few years.

That sounds like a loophole to me. Call it clever use of procedures, or a loophole, or a political strategy, whatever it is, it was entirely by the rules.

And some of the Dems knew it. You cant walk out of the chamber and not notice all the members of the other side staying and not think something is up.

The dems knew, they let it happen because they're not concerned about the Senate, and because they think they stand to gain political points from playing victim, just as Repubs did when Obama was president on a national level.

I would prefer that instead of all this, they both overhaul the education system in NC in regards to teacher pay and performance reviews, but both sides are currently busy trying to gain power Haha. I suppose it wouldn't be politics without that.
