Yes, some people do get that bothered by that sort of behavior at mealtime. Some people can ignore horribly inappropriate behavior.
I guess I've probably just been lucky to never see really badly behaved children (or adults) at a restaurant, just mildly inappropriate yet amusing behaviour.

I haven't seen a lot of it, and I used to be a waitress, but those few events certainly left an impression. LOL

I've seen my share. I've seen tables of drunk adults, and unruly kids whose behavior I would not have tolerated in my own. But I've also seen kids just being kids, and they get criticized too.
Did you let the manager know their behavior was disrupting your patronage of their business?
No, we got a takeout carton and finished our meal in the car. Some days I just don't have the energy to argue. We've taken the kids with us every year since then, and never been back to that particular restaurant.
It's unfair for kids to be discriminated against due to their age. I don't want kids smoking, drinking, driving, or marrying, but still. What areas are kids banned from on Disney cruise ships? I'd say kids have about 85 % of the rights adults have. And I don't think of "adult" as starting at 18, I think of it starting either earlier or later. I mean, why 18? You have 80 years to choose from!

I think part of the problem is that managers need to hear from patrons who have their meal disrupted. The kids behavior was so disruptive you had to cut your meal short. Managers need to hear about it. Otherwise they feel its easier to cater to the disruptive customers
