Then we are going to be stuck with this virus for a long time to come.

Not sure what's worse; the lame article or health officials withholding info.

So frustrating. Just like they wouldn't release the nursing home data.

Why does it matter so much? It should come as no surprise to anyone that the so-called essential workers, those working for minimum wage or off the books in hospitality, restaurant kitchens, construction etc are the ones bearing the brunt of the pandemic so far. In fact, testing in NY recently announced showed a staggering 68% of people in two working class neighborhoods of NYC tested positive for antibodies.

The disadvantaged, poor, and low income workers will increasingly reach "herd immunity" and when the virus comes back even more strongly than now this fall, it will be the privileged who will be hit the hardest. Wear those masks suburbanites. You're next. And by all means, keep your distance from the landscape guys.

Where did you see that herd immunity is applicable with this? I haven't seen anything proving that antibodies provide any level of lasting immunity.

Nor have you seen anything that says it doesn't. One might consider that all other corona virus infections result in at least temporary immunity, and there is no indisputably proven case of an individual being reinfected in the six months that this has gone on. Or not. In any case, if not, then millions and millions will die of this before it is over because a vaccine will not be effective.

While I've googled this until I'm blue in the face, the ER Doc's private Facebook page (20,000+ strong) have discussed examples of people who got the COVID virus twice. Our son who is in his 1st year ER residency (and by definition, doesn't know squat after three weeks) is 100% convinced that this is documented. If true, I'd assume this would be front-page news.

Sort of my point. I just don't think the notion of herd immunity is even worthy of conversation until we know if it's even applicable. Furthermore, without a vaccine, if herd immunity can be had, it would require a staggering death toll before we got there.

No one is a medical expert even trained physicians. The only thing we know is a mask lessens your germs to others indoors. It is a civic duty until more information is found. My complaint is folks neglecting this practice. To such people in AZ...feel free to volunteer your time at AZ ICU units since you feel omnipotent. Put your money where your maskless mouths are. Also...tell your doctor and dentist not to wear a mask working on you.
