As long as I can still listen to KMLE, KSLX and KUPD I'll be a happy camper.

None of the stations are broadcasting in Farsi, Urdu, Azeri, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Pashto, Tajik and Uzbek I hope!

I'm also looking forward to being able to purchase a television and not be required to pay a monthly television license fee in order to watch it. Yes folks, in the UK it is illegal to watch your t.v. unless you own a license. People have been heavily fined and jailed for doing so.

I'm not sure that isn't a bad idea. Maybe a TV interlock device...You have to step on a scale or have your body fat measured before the television comes on. If you're at unhealthy levels, NO TV FOR YOU!

This will always be a better city than the likes of Chicago, but unfortunately most of what used to be great here has gone downhill. Especially the jobs, they still don't pay **** and cost of living has absolutely skyrocketed.

I hear more and more good things about life in Las Vegas and I'm certainly gonna check out prices for rent soon. The job market seems to be thriving and it's NOT just casino and hotel jobs anymore.

No problem here. I lose weight just from THINKING about getting up. Can't wait to get home and stuff my face with all that good old fashioned fat-filled American food The only shows I require on my telly are CSI, Shark and Gray's Anatomy. Other than that the telly won't get much use by me, but at least I can own it and use it without paying for a license.

Albuquerque is a nice city. But in our relocation away from hell (Los Angeles) we choose Phoenix over Albuquerque, El Paso, and our hometown of Las Cruces.

It ranked like this for us
1. Phoenix
2. Las Cruces
3. El Paso
4. Albuquerque

Considering a move to Phoenix I of course don't mind seeing negatives about the city. I go with "everyone has an opinion and I don't you from adam's housecat" but it's good to keep in the back of my mind so that when I visit I'm aware that certain things are negatives and I just need to decide if they are negative for me. Because that's all that matters-is it a problem for me.

That said, I do think that some of the ugliness is unnecessary-I have to restrain myself on my city's data forum from interjecting person feelings like "I hate it here and am moving elsewhere why in the world would you move here?" BUT everyone is different and your likes and dislikes may not be the same as mine. Just be objective about stuff like "it's so hot and humid here in the summer it feels like your wrapped in a wet blanket that just came out of the oven" that's negative but also descriptive and objective and somewhat helpful with out being insulting or pointless.

The same way they do here in SC where I live. Not very easily.

I think that most families have two incomes. It would be very hard to make it here (or most cities) on one "normal" income these days. I know folks who do it, but you don't get the SUV, fancy vacations, big birthday parties for the kids, designer clothes, large house, etc. etc. On a positive note, teachers, cops, and other government workers do get job security along with a decent benefit package including health insurance and a defined benefit retirement plan that many other families do not.

It's getting better. Also, it's nearly impossible for 1 income to provide for a family now...period. That's why I will teach and my guy will keep working in his job, and everything will be hunky dory.

To keep on topic, I really hate that it takes 2 hours to go from desert to snow! I also hate all the secluded water holes around the state. So ugly, that pristine water. I hate the diversity in nature in this state. I hate the young art scene. I hate....Ok...j/k
