I know an elderly lady who goes to various doctors all of the time now because she has Medicare. Prior to Medicare, she told me she had NO Health Insurance. Now, she spends her time making appointments with all kinds of medical specialists (Eye doctors, dermatologists, etc) just because she can.

What I love most about her is that she's a die hard "conservative", to boot!
Happy to refuse Medicare when the time comes. Right after my govt stops confiscating my property in my paycheck.

Unfortunately for you, the constitution affords the authority to "confiscate" from your paycheck. I really hope, however, that you get to deal with, what you ask for... that the corporations sitting out there will listen to you, work in your interests and take care of you.

Yeah, sure, every young person is healthy until that inopportune car wreck, that fall down the stairs, that illness that requires hospitalization, that incidental finding on an x-ray that suggests a possible tumor, etc.

Any young person who turns down health insurance because "I feel fine" is a first-class dolt, and doesn't understand the concept of insurance ( or how high a hospital bill can run)...

You must be trolling,....you couldn't refute the statement.

Like most liberal trolls, you fly by,...drop a load of dung, and fly off blissfully into the sunset. Ignorance is bliss, they say.

This is funny! There's a thread going right now about how Medicare has no oversight, yet here people are complaining about too many denials! How can both be true?

Ok, you have complained about the end of life costs. And you want someone ( government, insurance or whatever) to pay for it....

let's really look at the problem. It's the END OF LIFE! Do you really want to extend your illness so that you live a few extra days.?

Pneumonia, leave it alone and you will die in a few days. FIght it and you can last for several more days.....and run up a big bill while you lie there, getting treatment that postpones the end.

That is what so many fail to see when they are talking about those final big bills. THE TREATMENT DOES NOT CURE. It merely postpones for a short while, death. I think that sooner or later we have to face the issue that Life, as we want it to be, will NOT return.

Should all the tax payers have to pay for Mr. _____ stay in the hospital just because he is dying and doesn't want to. It would be nice, of course, but is this the best use of the taxpayers money?

I almost feel sorry for some folks. I mean, I understand why the very wealthy (or at least many of them) fight against the things that would help the typical American. After all, they live in a charmed world and control it all with the flick of a pen. And I can understand why the insurance companies fight against health care reform. After all, every year they get more and more wealthy as the manipulate the lives of the typical Americans.

But how pathetic is it that they have so brainwashed some folks that those people are actually willing to fight against their own...and their country's.....best interest just to enrich those who wouldn't spit on them if they were on fire. Do they really not understand....do they really not get it....that the people for whom they are giving up their family's and their own future are sitting in the country club or on their yacht laughing at them?

This thread is about Medicare, not end of life care. Different subject altogether.

Something tells me you are very young, or you wouldn't have such a cavalier attitude about Mr. ______!
