What does one have to do with the other?

They don't get proper care because their own millitary screws them.

I believe for many public service jobs you get points added on to your test score for military service.
I think there was a time when we had the draft and young people did not have a choice but to be drafted into the military it was fair.
But does that still hold true in today’s world where we have an all voluntary army.

Yes

They put their lives on the line for our country, but they don't deserve a special job fair? Or a few points on a test score?

What part of they volunteered didn't you understand?

There are any number of thankless and dangerous jobs in the private sector, should a person get entitlements (from the entire public) for doing any of them?

I had this thought
A person that is oppose to the wars we are fighting because they believe they are immoral, unjust etc. is penalised for not enlisting while those who enlist that support the hawkish position are rewarded for their support.

Well, I have worked at Wal-Mart and Advance Auto...and there was a blocked that asked if I was military...but there were no points added, unless they added them after the fact.

The really only place I have seen points added for military is for a government job...not a wal-mart or anything like that....

Considering that veterans are 50% more likely to become homeless than other people, and this has been true for decades, I don't think we need to worry that we've been giving them too many entitlements. I know these are hard times for a lot of people, but veterans have historically had a hard time finding employment.
