What I have stated was that the poor pay taxes (i.e. sales, payroll, gasoline, etc.) but don't pay income taxes. In fact, most workers pay more payroll taxes than income taxes.
The right-wing uses the slight of hand of saying 'taxes' as a proxy for 'income taxes.'
Well geeze..if you pay $0 in income taxes then anything above 0 is more.

There you go again, misrepresenting/misunderstanding what I said. I said, "most workers pay more payroll taxes than income taxes," not, "most workers pay NO income taxes."

Actually "most workers" don't pay income tax...52% of them.
52% is more than half.."most".
One can quote anecdotal examples. However, the main reason the nation should tax the wealthy greater is that when we did, we had a better nation and we ran budget surpluses.
That's simply not true.
If it was, we would have had zero national debt during those years.
America had one period of zero debt....under Andrew Jackson.

If 47% of the larger total, which includes those that do not work do not pay taxes, how is it possible that 52% of those that work do not pay income taxes?

Prove me wrong.
Nah, we just will ignore you because the onus is upon you to prove your point not for others to disprove your throwaway comment.
First, even those that pay no INCOME taxes, pay taxes.
Second, I see no need for people at or below the poverty line to pay taxes. These people earn about 2.5% of national income and therefore would provide a negligible contribution to the tax-base while creating a hardship for them.
It is unconstitutional to tax some without taxing all.
As I stated a few posts ago....prove me wrong.
America wasn't founded on "from those according to their ability to those according to their needs."
You, as an individual, have the right to donate to the poor or not. Most of the left choose not.

The 47% is old news. It's 51% as of 2009. I made a mistake with that 52%.
And 30% actually got back more than they paid in..30%.

Read the Constitution. It is clearly spelled out.
My argument is proven. Yours is not.
But I fully understand how a leftie wouldn't want to comprehend the Constitution....it goes against all of your "principles".
