Boys and their toys. I don't find anything wrong with anything said. You should get out more and hang out at the gun shop. I think this thread is pretty cool myself! lol
Hmm, my girlfriend, her brother, her step-dad and I get to the range frequently. I am just suspect of people who make wild claims online, regardless whether said claims are about weapons or comic books or what-have-you.
I like talking guns too but what some people on this thread are engaging in is simply posturing.
Go back and look at my posts, nothing mentioned about anything looking scary.
No but that's how "assault weapons" are defined. The woman who wrote that proposed AWB didn't even know what it was she was trying to ban, as you can see in that video. You're spouting a bunch of silly nonsense calling guns "assault weapons" based on a bill written by a complete idiot.
OK, a question, some person has just pulled a gun on you, are you honestly telling me you don't feel stress? If you don't, I'd like some of the drugs you're taking.
I'm not, nor was I, talking about TRAINING, shooting at a gun range is light years away from actually having to pull your gun on an armed perp.
I don't think I mentioned anything about debilitating adrenaline.
It would appear you failed to read my previous remarks before responding, thus, you took mine out of context.
Yes, of course I feel stress when looking down the barrel of someone else's firearm. The adrenaline dump is associated with the stress one experiences when faced with an imminent lethal attack. I would have expected a retired cop to understand this.
My use of the word debilitating to describe the adrenaline dump was to give leos I decribed in my previous post the benefit of the doubt for their lack of muzzle awareness, safe gun handling skills, and failure to make good hits, in a formal training setting. So, if their stress is not debilitating on the range, they really have no excuse do they?

Nope, not hardly. Like I said, I wish they'd disappear, because I've seen the damage they can do. Take that however you want. The term has a broad definition, and I've explained what I consider assault weapons.
I don't repeat myself often, usually to my 3-year-old grankid, just before I whack his butt.
There's a big difference and always has been on being in possession of an unlicensed machine gun and a AWB in a State that doesn't allow it. The illegal Class III is automatic $10,000 fine and ten years in prison. I doubt the penalty is that severe for being in possession of a thirty round pre ban mag in a State that doesn't allow it. The same for a flash hider or bayonet lug. That's not a suppressor or select fire. AWB isn't regulated under NFA regulations. I wouldn't want to be the guy caught with either, however, I would think that they wouldn't go as hard on you for a AWB violation. Remember, that's a State offense. Not a FEDERAL charge like a unlawful posssesion of a Class III item.
That's all good to know but the topic we're discussing is an assault weapons ban. The ban would put a law into effect that bans certain guns based on what the law states. The correct definition from Guns & Ammo doesn't matter or what some people think also doesn't matter. It's all about what the law states you can or can't do.

Based clearly on your own conjecture and opinion, not exclusively by mechanical function or by law. This is the danger of disarming the law abiding people to be subservient to those who think they know what is best for them but would render them helpless to defend themselves.
I suspect it was not law abiding citizens using weapons to turn people to hamburger meat, but rather felons in the commision of a crime, is that correct? Yet, as a retired cop, you better than anyone, or should know, that legislation does not deter the criminal behavior of violent predators including drug dealers, gangbangers, et al..

Good, I'm glad we understand each other.
Entire quote: Are you suggesting that in square range training scenarios that leos are more likely to experience a debilitating adrenaline dump than non-leos training along side them?
