You can believe that companies are laying off and cutting hours because they are not doing well financially. Or you can believe that they fired workers who voted for Obama out of spite.

You are free to believe what you want as the reason for these actions.
Well, you can insult me all you want, but that doesn't make what you're saying true. Layoffs usually occur because of business downturns. My spouse has been laid off several times, common in IT, as you should know. None of these layoffs were d/t politics.

The title of the video says these people were fired for voting for Obama, and so does the transcript.

Besides the teaparty was all in favor of smaller and efficent government why should'nt it apply to businesses as well?

Since people voted for bigger government it certaintly wouldn''t be "as well" now would it?

I wasn't insulting you. There is no specific direct proof. Only indirect based on various data, trends and announcements by both the government and business. I can't prove without a doubt that Obamacare is the sole reason. I can come to that conclusion though based on the data provided.

I was one of the luckier ones in IT..I got to stay with my company for 20+ years and left on my own doing.
When the mass layoffs/offshoring started at my place at the end of 2007, I made up my mind to retire early and not be one of those walking dead in the parking lot carrying a box. I saw more of that happen at my job in 4 years than I did in the entire 20+ years. When my dept went from 30 to 5 in a one hour timespan there is a shock to the system even if you were not one of the "chosen ones".

I wish your husband luck in making it to retirement and hope he gets to leave on his terms when he wants.

Of course businesses lay off due to downturns and expenses must be cut. But cost of doing business is now going to increase and now business must increase to meet the increase cost of doing business. If it doesn't then there will be layoffs to offset the increase cost.

You better hope that Obama's building from the middle class out works.

I saw the same thing in the past 4 years. I guess it will be like the housing crash, Obama voters will not realize their bad decision until it is too late (which it already is) but then again, they play the blame game well and will just blame it on someone else so they may never come to realize their bad decision.

Welcome to the "Transformation of America"

Dh just told me that his company will be laying off people and limiting hours to avoid paying for health care for the little better than minimum wage employees in the stores. They're looking at closing stores hoping that customers will go to the ones that remain open. He says this is a direct result of obummer getting reelected and that it would not have happened if obummercare weren't going into effect.

The owner is also looking into selling the business and just letting someone else deal with the headache. Unfortunately, THAT puts dh's job on the line. A new owner may bring in his own staff to run the business. Fortunately, the company that provides their network has made it clear that dh is to get his resume to them if the company doesn't want to keep him on. They won't look at his resume unless the company lets him go though as they don't steal programmers from clients so we'll be ok. In fact if dh loses his job, he may do better with the support company. It's a pretty good sign when they're telling you to send them your resume if you lose your job before the fact. They like his work.

THIS is the really scary part. They do not learn from their mistakes because they refuse to see that they made any. It won't be obummer's fault, it will be the fault of the republican house. I'm already seeing posts here blaming the republicans for not playing along. It's never their fault....and they vote....

Welcome to the demise of America and the American way of life.

That would be nice, wouldn't it?

It will be at dh's company. The workers in the stores are, predominantly, democrats. They're the first ones on the lay off list too. Dh says the lay offs won't be for a few months yet but they'll be complete with reduced hours for the remainng employees before the obummercare mandate goes into effect. They'll be closing stores and, possibly, selling the operation alltogether.

True, layoffs usually occur because of business downturns ---- experienced or FORESEEN. Obamacare includes a FORESEEN business fiscal impact.

In the transcript the business owner also says that the layoffs (a couple) and hour reductions are SPECIFICALLY to avoid the Obamacare mandate (and try to survive in business - so they ALL aren't laid off). The business owner mentions that the COUPLE he had to lay off completely (to be under 50 employees) - he tried to identify Obama voters.

The headline is catchy, but not the whole story.
