You mean unlike the ''emotionally distraught people'' carrying AR-15's, Glocks and Winchesters, and threatening civil war....?!!
I have to remove the picture because it has real names on it. Sorry. Honest mistake.

It was a link to some pretty disgusting comments about Gabby Giffords and obviously made only because she is for gun control after getting short through the head.
You mean people who were proponents, for cancer research, restrictions on asbestos and smoking shouldn't use people that contracted cancer in their fundraising. Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is a perfect example of a grass roots movement that brought about change that made us a better nation. It's nice to see people fight for a cause they believe in, rather than those that are in it for personal greed.
The point of contention is when politicians use these people to push their agendas, their pork filled bills, with billions of dolars for their cronies and corporate pals, and then when you or i oppose their bill because of all the graft waste, and fraud in it, we get called heartless and cruel, because we are insensitive to the tear jerking, and emotionally charged testimony of the parade of victims.
Oh, you heartless, cruel bastard, how could you vote down the "Help The Crippled Children" bill??? Or maybe the Sandy Hook Child Protection bill
So, bad law gets passed because no one wants to look like a meanie when the whole country is still in tears from the awful disaster.
Edit: For example, the Patriot Act. The nation was in an emotionally charged state, and lawmakers passed a law many ended up regretting. The same applies for politicians who regretted their decisions to go to war. does that help explain my thoughts to you better?
I don't hate the woman, I just don't buy the current push by Democrats to use her and her being shot as a political token in order to push gun control. Let's be honest here, she was shot with a handgun and they're using her as a physical example of how big bad evil rifles kill women and children. It's pathetic to see her used as a pawn.

The big lobbies, financial investment, real estate, energy are the lobbies we should be worried about, not the minor not-for-profits.
