Brazil is having a major Conference/ Hearing on UFOs this month also. Many countries are ahead of the US on Disclosure, and the country is likely not to be the first country to make the BIG announcement.
OF COURSE IT IS ABOUT POLITICS - it is political pressure from the US (and it's "owners" which has kept other countries from Disclosing earlier.) But now the pressure to make Disclosure is growing fast.

His interest in the possibility of extraterrestrial beings visiting earth has been recorded several times in interviews he did, particularly during an interview with Larry King on CNN in 1988. He had asked General Curtis LeMay about going in to the Blue Room at Hangar 18 at Wright Field in Dayton Ohio, and was told by General LeMay “to go to Hell”, and “don’t ever ask me that question again.”

I do think the CHD Hearings were a game changer - there were enough strong witnesses and a very credible Congressional panel who took them seriously - it should now be obvious to anyone who bothers to do a little research, that this is a serious topic, with major implications for change in our world.
Taking it seriously means THROWING OFF THE PROGRAMMING that we have all had from the mainstream media. Intelligent people should find that easier and easier. TV is mostly dumbed down so much, that it has become virtually unwatchable. How many more hours can any thinking person tolerate watching some air-head tell you what the Kardashians did? People with an IQ above room temperature are switching off their sets, and turning to more meaningful subjects. And the UFO/ET issue is one of the very biggest.
I may seem obsessed to some, but once you move away from the MSM programming, lose interest in most of the sports porn, and instead DYOR, the world starts to look different, and the intent of the brainwashing becomes more apparent.

Because, we're humans. We're not meant to retrofit our bodies to stay on this earth for millions of years.
Clearly, who/what/how we were created, we were meant to evolve and discover the universe outside of Earth. As I always say, play the "what doesn't fit" game we all played in elementary school, where they would show 4 pictures of objects, and we would have to select one which does not fit with the others.
My point, humans are unlike any species on this Earth, and I highly doubt our intelligence is evolutionary or even Earthly.
Just keep an open mind.
