That's nice. I think women should be allowed to have an abortion whenever they please, for any reason or none, without having to worry about you think at all. Do you think they should have to worry about what you think?

No one gets an abortion at 8 months. Even if a woman's life was in danger due to whatever, that far along, it can be removed by C section and can survive with intensive post natal care. No doctor would abort that late.

Well then you live in a bizarro world. How many is "a lot of women"? Tiller and Gosnell means nothing to me as a South African. How many times do I need to tell you this?
The only possible way there can be an "8 month abortion" is if there was no regular pre natal care and examination and a huge defect is discovered. I dunno how you can make assertions like this as here, no doctor would perform an abortion at this late stage (legally that is)
My late wife's close friend had a baby that was born w/o a brain. It only lived 30 minutes. Her doctor screwed up.
If abortions for abnormalities are performed b/c we can detect stuff like this now, is it not better to abort and try again rather than go through the trauma of infant death? I would say yes.

How can Conservatives say w/ a straight face that every child's life is precious, and at the same time actively try to strip all the protections in place to ensure that child has the basics it needs for a healthy childhood?
Cuts to school lunch programs? Cuts to SNAP benefits? Cuts to centers that provide services to newborn & young children?
What kind of depravity does it take to force someone to bring a mouth that they can't afford into the world, then abandon that family to their own devices once you realize it costs YOU money?

The GOP hates minorities and the poor, so throttling back on abortion will ensure that more poor minority women will continue to give birth. The GOP hates social welfare, so limiting abortions will ensure a steady flow of children growing up in welfare.
The GOP hates science and education, yet regularly backs pie-in-the-sky defense projects dependent on cutting edge technology. The GOP hates social welfare but fights like hell to maintain corporate welfare.
The bottom line is this:
Anti-abortion has almost nothing to do with babies. If that were the case, they wouldn't oppose contraceptives, but they do. A good portion of the anti-abortion crowd is made up of males who hate sex and deeply resent those of us who enjoy it. That's the core issue.

Pre-K? Head Start? WIC? Free lunch for everyone and now breakfast too, what services?
Don't you worry that the mother and father of that child should have some responsibility to make their child a lunch? pick them up from school, take them home or to the local library to study?
Has Head Start worked? The GSA said it has been a huge failure. What about WIC, SNAP, etc....now it's free Pre-K....at what point does "we are broke" come into the equation?
