So proposing a bill that makes cuts to a program is making real cuts to those programs? So what happens when the bill is passed? If you're going to try to defend this ridiculous point, you're going to show a real disconnect from reality.
"Conservatives make it a moral issue that we need to protect life, every life is valuable, every child needs to be protected... until that child is born. Once that baby's out of the mother, their tune turns to "Eff you baby AND your mother."

Yeah, you didn't mention abortion at all. You were talking about walking the dog.

Proposing a bill that makes cuts and making cuts are entirely different things. Saying cuts were made when they were only proposed is nothing more than a lie. And cuts are never made anyway. Reductions in projected spending increases are what Democrats call cuts, even though they are spending increases. Kinda like the guy that says he lost 20 pounds because he thought he would gain 50 but only managed 30.

And legislators know if a bill is gonna pass before they bring it up. If it fails it does not mean the people bringing it up wanted it to pass. They wanted to say they tried next campaign. It's a game to fool morons. This is Politics 101.

More hysterical ranting from eddiebgood. Have you sought help?

Quote:
How can Conservatives say w/ a straight face that every child's life is precious, and at the same time actively try to strip all the protections in place to ensure that child has the basics it needs for a healthy childhood?
Like marriage?

It's by far the most important (and effective) means of ensuring the child has the basics it need for a healthy childhood.

And conservatives aren't the ones trying to strip it away.

Great.

None of these were attempts to outlaw abortion.

As long as lawmakers have teenage daughters and granddaughters abortion will be legal. It may be harder for your daughter to get one, but they will be legal. Book it.

How fortunate that, in other contexts where humans were being murdered under the protection of law, people did not wait years to stop it.

But, do you know why you sit on your hands? Because you know little "babies" aren't being murdered. If you really believed that, you would obviously do more. I mean, if you sat by year-after-year as millions of "babies" were murdered and did no more than you are not doing now, why, you'd have to be an immoral person.

Not sure why Ohio is trying to change abortion laws.

Abortion clinics have been closing here due to lack of demand.

Liberals been bitching about the one closing in Columbus. They won't admit it but I know why. It's about a mile from where I live in a black neighborhood. Liberals don't want more black kids running around town.

Fine. So where am I talking about Republicans trying to end abortion?

So please explain the Texas Republicans story where they proposed, passed, and enacted into law cuts to their family planning funding? I thought proposed cuts don't actually happen? I thought that it was politics 101 to say you were for cutting funds to children, but not really?

In response to the original question:

1. Conservatives tend to have hang-ups about sex.
2. Because conservatives tend to be more heavily into religion, they accept the inherent filthiness of sex and especially detest consequence-free sex.
3. Because they tend to be fervently religious, they realize at some level there is a contradiction between their supposed belief in the principles of Jesus and their regard for poor people. They know they have been instructed to treat the least among them differently. Since they aren't prepared to love those dirty poor people, what better way to redefine "the least among us" than little "babies?"
4. It makes for a nice social outlet for these people. If abortions ended tomorrow, many of these folks would be crestfallen, though they would not admit that.

Your "logic" is so airtight it died of asphyxiation.

Just because you slapped that inane crap on your straw man does not make him representative of any real person. But this is how you libs attack every issue, demonize your ideological opponent as a hoofed demon, in a vain attempt at bolstering your own unattainable position on an issue.

Conservatives respect life and liberty, and the pursuit of ones own happiness, whatever that may be; but we are also rational enough to realize no person should obtain their liberty and happiness at the expense of others, to, and including killing another human being for the sake of convenience.
