I understand where your coming from but disagree about the purpose of the thread. This thread has been great for raising awareness, researching instances of racial profiling and Police misconduct/corruption, and understanding the mindset of the opposition (I believe you are right in that some just do not care).

I attribute that mostly to the War on Drugs and illegal drug trade. Same as when it was Italians, Irish, and other poor immigrants at the turn of the century and in the 30's.
This is 100% right on. Drug laws inherently discriminate against those who have been historically discriminated against in the workforce. Nothing would benefit the urban poor more than ending the drug war.
