So creating completely hypothetical situation. Like you said, with yours Suzy's having a fight, but in my scenario you were for some reason or other indisposed and your wife gave the ok to allow the friend to stay. You arrive home at 1:59am and crash in your bed and shortly after you hear a sound (Suzy coming back from the restroom) and go through your routine and shoot Suzy because they are someone other than your daughter in her room.
Unlikely. My wife would have told me, either by calling me or leaving a note where it's sure that I'd find it that there was a guest in the house. Just as I would if she were the one away at the time.
Let's say that somehow I didn't find out. Start the play... I find a girl in my daughter's room. In all honesty I'm far less likely to shoot a girl on sight and would give at least a moment to seek an explanation. A guy in her room is altogether different as there's no good end to that story.
Unless armed, a female is far less of a threat than a male is under all conditions. (And I say that as someone who had a very violent ex who once clubbed me from behind and fled thinking I was dead...)
You cannot beat someone up for sleeping with your daughter.
Why not?
Heck, the kid would still be alive if the father had been smart and done that instead of shooting him, and Harrier reckons that the kid would have never pulled such a stunt again.
Because if the father had been white, it would have been noted in the article.
Anyway, the fact that he isn't facing charges should lay to rest the idea that black men are always being unjustly screwed by the "white" justice system.
The DA there in Texas seems to have common sense.
While Harrier would like to think that he would have handled the situation differently, one really can't blame the guy for acting in defense of his home and family when he didn't know what was really going on.

He would have learned something.
It should not matter. However, I would be interested in why it may matter to you.

What shouldn't matter - that a good whipping would be better for the kid than putting lead into his brain and prematurely ending his earthly existence?
Why does it matter what the race is? It's not like they had to give a description to apprehend someone. It's still a dad who made a grave mistake, thinking he was protecting his daughter.
