That is fine. If the vehicle is assembled in another country, it should be sold in that country and that country only. If it is a US market vehicle, sell it here.

Yes, it's time to put Americans first. Let Carlos Slim build billion dollar new plants in Mexico to create 2,800 new jobs. Ford should build that here.

Yes, a very large ripple effect that will be gained in Mexico and not in the US. We've had 40 years of this stuff, on steroids since NAFTA. It's time for a change - put Americans first for once. Or pay the consequences. After all, we are not communists.

Not just US car companies.

Last week I was on a flight from Houston to Queretero Mexico (state of Guanajuato) and over half the passengers were Japanese men.

I asked my taxi driver how the local economy was doing and he said, great, thanks to the new Honda plant nearby.

Not what we can do about it, but rather more stupid politics. Reagan has NOTHING to do with this. He's been dead a long time now. The problem is NOW.

We can come together to put pressure on Ford but we will not. We will sit back and make our stupid political rants while more people lose their jobs so Ford can look after Wall Street.

People assume that any trade deal once passed is forever. Baloney. Any administration has the obligation to review any current deals and either accept them, renegotiate them, or cancel them.

If we can amend the Constitution trade deals can be amended.

I personally don't want to spend extra money so factory workers in the Rust Belt can keep their jobs and overinflated paychecks. If an uneducated person living in a third world country can do your job, that should be a clear sign that you need to obtain more education and new job skills. If anyone is stupid enough to skip out on educating themselves and not prepare for careers that can't be done by third world peasants, they deserve little sympathy. Just because some people believe that Americans have a divine right to earn 60k a year putting cars together in a factory does not mean that other Americans need to pay for it.
^ this I don't understand why people cannot grasp this concept.

If they hate the cost of doing business here so much, then every last one of them can get the f--k out of our country. I mean completely, and permanently. They accept the benefits and privileges of American citizenship, but scream like banshees when asked to do what's right.

I suggest a car party. Load up hundreds of Ford cars and trucks and dump them into the nearest accessible harbor.
Well you have three choices:
1) Move out of rust belt Indiana. I suggest moving to a state like Texas.
2) Stay in Indiana and go to your local community college and learn some new skills. Get a nursing degree for instance. The demand for healthcare related jobs is through the roof in this country.
3) Move to Scandinavia where socialist big government will coddle and care for you from the cradle to the grave.

You can start by thinking, "What if my job was outsourced?" But of course those who have difficulty with this concept say to themselves, "My job can never be outsourced" so, seldom cross that bridge.

Default Timing: Ford confirms it's moving all small car production from Michigan to Mexico...

Ford has been assembling many of their vehicles (incl the F150) in Mexico for decades.

Just think of it as Mexico > China.
