We'll be waiting a long time for any video showing him with his hands raised at the time he was tazed/shot. Oh well, 'Hands up, don't shoot' makes for a catchy chant.

lmao!

Expected.

And this, my friends, is the problem.

Attitudes like this are generational. They are passed down from this individual, to his heirs, and to their heirs. It's a never ending cycle of racism, willing ignorance, and overt denial. People like this hide behind computers, post their racist bull####, continue to be part of the problem, make no efforts to understand how they are the problem, and keep the cycle going, indefinitely.

So an unarmed man that poses no threat to the police gets shot for reaching for the roof of his car? IMHO the police officer committed at least manslaughter and should be charged with that on the basis of the police helicopter films.

I disagree with the poster that blames the supposed instability of women in a threatening situation. Like men, some are, but most are not. I have to ask why the cops near her did not try to calm her down? Or are they just as ready to shoot some unthreatening guy just because he was there?

This is what happens when we try to militarize cops so the arms makers will have ever bigger markets for their fancy and expensive weapons. We have had generations of police armed with only a club and a .38 cal. revolver. Why do the suddenly need Tasers, rifles, semi auto pistols with 15+ rounds in the magazine, body armor and, most expensively, fancy command trucks etc.? We apparently need them so the weapons makers can continue to get rich on the tax payers money. We need more community policing not more militarized policing.

All this indicates that somebody is at war with our own people. Is being not rich but Black such a crime that the police have some form of open season on you? How did we slide into a us vs. them police state? How can we turn this around so the police stop being an occupying army?

Your second link is from 2011. Yes there are some crooked police but the vast majority do their jobs with dignity.

You post links all day if you want. For every link you post, I probably could find 5 to 10 links of officers killed in the line of duty.

Why, why, why, why is the entire burden of de-escalation and behaving in a reassuring manner placed on UNTRAINED civilians. I have encountered police maybe 2-3 times in my life. They do traffic stops and calls everyday. How exactly is the average person supposed to remain more calm and collected than the trained officer???

Because too many officers are shot and killed by these "UNTRAINED civilians" who have no respect for authority! What should an officer think or do when one does not comply with commands and acts in a non-reassuring manner?

How about if free classes are provided to train these people?
