and muskets. But yes, I am in favor of people being allowed to own a gun or two for hunting and protection.
So now in addition to all your other desired restrictions you want limits to the number of guns one can own as well. But you still wish to convince us all that you're pro-2A.
Anti what, I stated I am pro gun and I agree with the second amendment.
yet you say you support bans on "assault weapons" when we have tried to show some of you how the anti gun people use wrong information and scare tactics in branding a gun a "assault rifle".
The AR-15 is the most popular rifle in America for target and competition shooting, it isn't just a "weapon of war". But I could take a sling shot into war and then it would be a "weapon of war".
Quite the contrary, it's a concession to the fact that I am not. As a somewhat out-of-shape 54 y/o I'm no match for a 20-something MMA fighter, let alone a group of them, or any other kind of violent gang. A firearm at least helps equal the odds. I'm too old to fight well-too young and stubborn to accept dying at someone else's hands.
No I an not a weapons connoisseur. but I do know that when the constitution was written we didn't have semiautomatic weapons. What people here are doing is convincing me that perhaps it is good to do away with the 2nd amendment.
OK see what you did there? Opened your self up to a 1st amend argument as a comparison. I won't, but you open up to harsh rebuttals....
You claim to seek a restriction of "Military style" Which Military? Which period of history? Which development Military or Civilian? Blanket statement such as your should be avoided...

Fifty something year-old FEMALE here. I spend a great deal of time by myself as my husband travels on business. If you think that I'm going to stay home and not be able to defend myself if the case ever arises, well... then your just plain nuts. The avg. response time here for the police is over 15 minutes. I could be dead and rigor setting in before they found me in some cases. Well.....break into my house and if the 22 or 45 doesn't get you the 12 ga. will.........

It is so insanely hard to stay within the bounds of the TOS as it concerns these posters. They truly need a severe verbal thrashing for their arguments. Half the time I don't know if they are serious or playing games, either way... it is unbelievable.

The militia aspect of the second amendment makes no sense. Every so often a militia strikes up in the red states and they end up being killed or in jail. Also the infringement part is not absolute and up to interpretation. Allowing people to keep handguns and hunting weapons is not infringing of their right to own a gun.
Yes, you did. You specifically linked Columbine and "military style" weapons. Now you're saying semi-auto, which basically means you don't think anyone should have anything other than a bolt action. And you wonder why we push back so hard against gun control.
One small step at a time is what they will do, are doing.
