You seriously think Trumps moves will not directly affect Americans who will be exposed to more threats and plots from "Radical Islamists" who will take the stupid moves made this week by Trump as personal insults, as challenges, as propaganda fodder to be used against us and to promote opportunities to attack?

I think this affects us all personally.

Deal?

The US removes all conditions to residency, even if the permanent resident breaks the law they can not lose their residency, but they can be denied citizenship if they apply later. My guess is this is the grounds for the federal judge blocking Trumps executive order. No other visa is treated this way and they can get canceled at anytime.

I'm not against banning refugees or even getting rid of visas for some specific countries. But, obviously there is going to be a legal battle when applying this to people who have paid out money to get residency or other types of visas. Getting a green card takes years and costs $4-10K, not pocket change.

It will be interesting to see Trumps next move. This ban was only for 90 days as well... I don't see the excitement of those who support it or oppose it.
You may want to review this immigration ruling about deporting criminal immigrants enacted by President Bill Clinton back in 96' Trump is not making chit up....He is trying in many cases to enforce immigration laws that have been on the books for years...

Supreme Court Upheld ruling... Immigrants that do/have broken the law. This was put into place under President Clinton in 96'.

Linked.....Under the background section of this article published by The Leadership Conference, regarding ....Supreme Court Upholds Basic Due Process Rights of Immigrants

I don't know if this link will work.
But heres a FB post from a guy who's Iranian wife is now not allowed in.
Ironically she came to study art in USA because of our rights of Freedom of expression, something she doesn't have in Iran.

She doesn't look like much of a threat to National Security.

I am fairly certain that IF something happens it will not be because of Trump's move but because of the protesters, CAIR, Soros, the media and all those who are squawking so loudly to ensure that this 'news', which is warped way out of proportion to what is really happening, gets published world wide and incites those who hate us even more than they already are 'inspired'.

This is a legitimate and prudent action that could have all happened quietly and smoothly and been a 'non-story' were it not for the above groups who have a vendetta to destroy this administration in any way possible. Trump, before he acts, seems to be calling all the world leaders he needs to to inform them of what will be happening - and from what I see, those who were called don't seem to be screaming .. it is just terrorist leaders and the above US based groups who seem so darned upset.

I am a citizen and I have been 'detained' at the border a few times in the 67 years I have been crossing. I did nothing wrong but that sort of thing happens occasionally to just about anyone who crosses frequently. If nothing else, there seems to be a quota system or a system whereby they scrutinize x number of people as they come across - perhaps just for practice or perhaps because you seem like an easy target or perhaps just because they can .. but they have the right to do that - always have. Innocent people win in the end - it is just a short delay. A few hours later I was on my way again.

You all make this sound as though those who were detained were strip searched and tortured and held for weeks without bread and water in a concrete cell. Come on - use a little logic here.

Yeah, being nice to "Radical Islamist terrorists" has worked so well in the past right? Here's where your logic fails, it is fallacy to believe that Radical Islamists need anything more than we are non believers as a reason to kill us. Is that so hard to understand? THAT is what their motivation is now and always has been.
It has NOTHING to do with any perceived insults (other than we won't submit to Sharia or become Islamists) or what any world leader has done or will do. The ONLY way to stop these nutballs is to either convert to Islam or KILL THEM where they stand as they are bent on doing the same to us.

I just don't get why this is so hard for some to understand, they have told us just this for years now so when are y'all going to BELIEVE what the nutballs are saying?

It doesn't.

People care about WAY too many things they have zero impact on them.

Refugees ONLY effect citizens negatively...when they come in they're settled into cities and use resource but pay nothing to maintain those resources.

They come into schools but since they pay nothing into taxes, schools bear the additional burden and pass it on to other familes through "pay for play" fees for sports and activities.

I honestly have a tough time coming up with any positive thing that comes from refugees...

He's banned all citizens from those countries, including dual passport holders and legal permanent residents.

Including people who have already gone through "extreme vetting" and we're turned away yesterday after years of going through the process.

Those that returned rather than be detained at the airport not only had to pay for their flights back, they've effectively got a removal on their record.

Yep, and neither have all of the other TERRORISTS that have mounted successful attacks in the U.S....
It's not the plan to NOT let anyone in, the plan is to be as sure as we can be that those that are coming in are A. Who they say they are B. Exactly what they claim to be.
Why is that a bad thing?
