Hypocrites.
Well, if the players protest the police, and the police responds by refusing to provide security at the games, I'd say the police proved the point the players are trying to make.
Really they are prosecuted because of traffic stops? Or is it because they act cagey and have dope and illegal weapons in plain view?
Re: Ferguson: DOJ based the following lawsuit on their findings & the continuing resistance to policing reforms:
Quote:
The Department of Justice filed a 56-page civil lawsuit Wednesday against the City of Ferguson, Mo. alleging that, 18 months after the police shooting of Michael Brown, the city’s police and court system continue to violate black residents’ civil rights.
The suit — a contentious next-step in what has been a months-long negotiation process between federal and city officials over potential reforms — says these “ongoing and pervasive” violations come from the city’s use of law enforcement to generate revenue. ...

White men kill cops more than anybody. And whites are more likely to have illegal contraband when stopped. But blacks are still targeted more by police. It's not hard to understand. Blacks are overpoliced to the point where every little thing is ticketed. They aren't doing that to whites.

"It's not hard to understand."
Obviously it IS for some.
"Blacks are overpoliced", BECAUSE THEY COMMIT MOST of the crimes.
Blacks are stopped in BLACK COMMUNITIES with VERY HIGH rates of crime and white are stop in WHITE communities.
If a person is robbed and describes a black male 18 to 25yers old, 5.8'' and about 135 pounds, WHY would they stop ANY WHITE male?

You forgot to mention who was the president and who was the head of the DOJ when this happened.
Then again this article was written by the dem Wash Post.
AND, the police office involved was EXONERATE OF ANY WRONG DOING by the courts.
I know, details, details, details.
One detail from the DOJ report:
Quote:
In 2013 alone, the court issued over 9,000 warrants on cases stemming in large part from minor violations such as parking infractions, traffic tickets, or housing code violations. Jail time would be considered far too harsh a penalty for the great majority of these code violations, yet Ferguson’s municipal court routinely issues warrants for people to be arrested and incarcerated for failing to timely pay related fines and fees. Under state law, a failure to appear in municipal court on a traffic charge involving a moving violation results in a license suspension. Ferguson has made this penalty more onerous by only allowing the suspension to be lifted after payment of an owed fine is made in full.
Why are people still being incarcerated for minor violations like parking infractions or traffic tickets?
