I don't think Democrats should make much of an issue with Kavanagh. I do think that Trump made a great self-serving choice as Kavanagh has written that a President is above the law and should not face either civil or criminal liability while in office. Trump's choice was thus a no brainer for him.

We know, we know....that talking point has been repeated a couple of dozen times already.

Whats also been mentioned several times is that Kavanagh is known..KNOWN for not allowing personal opinion to dictate his rulings..but for some reason, Dums..err..Dems seem to forget that. So the unhinged libs can take their "self serving" BS argument and blow it out their you know what...

You should probably read what Kavanagh said instead of repeating like a parrot whatever liberal talking head de jour you got your lines from.
In fact not only did he not say that a President is above the law, he said the exact opposite:
One might raise at least two important critiques of these
ideas. The first is that no one is above the law in our system of
government. I strongly agree with that principle.
A second possible concern is that the country needs a check
against a bad-behaving or law-breaking President. But the
Constitution already provides that check. If the President does
something dastardly, the impeachment process is available.
No single prosecutor, judge, or jury should be able to accom-
plish what the Constitution assigns to the Congress.
Moreover an impeached and removed President is still subject to
criminal prosecution afterwards.
I vote Republican. I love Trump. These are words I heard last night that make me nervous in this order:
1. Bush (illegal immigration)
2. Kagan (hired him)
3. Jesuit (radical lefties in Catholic religion)
4. DC (works in The Swamp - NeverTrumpers - news media conflates Republicans with conservatives)
5. Harvard (It could be worse, he could teach at NYU. NYU students were interviewed BEFORE pick was announced but spoke about it being a bad pick when interviewed -- sheeple in college who don't know s**t about s**t.)

I agree, Laura. That Bush came out for him is troubling. Bush had/has no interest in a southern border. Also, in North Carolina, Burr has come out in favor of him. That screams The Swamp.

Starting to see on Twitter that this may of been Justice Kennedy’s pick and was negotiated before he retired. Wouldn’t surprise me, this guy doesn’t seem like a Trump nominee, he has been entrenched in DC politics his entire adult life except to attend Yale.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Kavanaugh sides with liberals many times over the years. This pick far from excites the base, yet looks like it could be a layup to get through the senate (unless Rand Paul opposes). I just don’t see how the liberals can generate enough fake outrage over such a boring nomination to successfully block him.
If the socialists can't read the writing on the wall they should be told. The United States is returning to a bootstraps pull up paradigm. Work very hard and you will succeed. Btch and complain and you will fail.
The most recent SCOTUS decision re the Colorado Baker supported him not because he was anti gay marriage but because the Colorado commission clearly abused it's mandate and in overreaching violated his rights. SCOTUS protected him.
The next twenty years will be difficult on those that feel they are "owed" something. Assuming Kavanaugh is confirmed, there will be no quarter for mamby pamby "you owe me" and yelling and screaming. They might not agree but in the future the rewards will go to the brave.
