I don't agree with holding the American people hostage as a means to a compromise. We need our paychecks and our tax returns.
Most Americans don't want the wall.

Yes, they can override him if some of the GOP senators grow a spine and pair of balls.

I am not optimistic.

Might come as a surprise to you, but that is how government works.
Trump had a compromise deal in front of him a year ago, one that he himself proposed, but then he changed his mind and refused to sign it. And then two weeks ago he said he was ready to compromise again, but then when Fox and Ann Coulter criticized him, he declared he would only take his wall, or nothing.

He has no backbone, he does whatever the Fox pundits tell him to do. He is a weak president which is terrible for government because Congress cannot trust him when he has to ask permission from Hannity, Coulter and the other right wing nutters before he can sign anything.

Then why isn't Trump compromising. So far it is either his way or shutdown continues. Doesn't sound like much of a compromise.

Yep, first time it was that white supremist Steven Miller who changed Trumps mind. This time it was Coulter and Rush.

All it takes is 4 GOP Senators with a spine to come forward and say they will BLOCK any votes from moving ahead to end ths stalemate. Mitch can't prevent the Senate from voting on the House bills already passed forever.

These 4 or more Senators need to make a stand to get Mitch to cave in. After all, we know how he values getting all those GOP judges confirmed and he has a bunch of GOP Senators up for re-election in 2020 he needs to protect.

It's a lie that a large percentage of Americans want the wall. By a solid majority, they do not.

But I'm good with your solution. Open the government back up and let the voters in 2020 decide if they want the wall or not. But be prepared to be very disappointed.
