Here's an idea. Get the numbers of what it costs them to build military assets (missiles, ships, etc.) and the world can buy $5B worth of those assets and destroy them. It equates to Iran trading $5B they spent on military hardware for $5B of healthcare.

I just read some "inside Congress" first person stories about Pence that were from 2005 when he was a Rep.
He was basically cut, cut, cut, cut and unsmiling. Nothing has changed although he really doesn't have the power to do much, but he is still following the same lead. Why would he change?
Of course, while he cut he backed the wars, the tax cuts, throwing people off health care and the usual agenda.
Is anyone here claiming Pence changed his stripes? Against all evidence of same?
People have been warning of a major pandemic for decades. No one on either side of the aisle or private company has done much to prepare for one. We’re lucky this one “only” kills 2-4 percent of people.
That's why. They have been warning for decades and for decades it hadn't happened. It'll be the same story some day when an asteroid hits.
Deaths reflect the people that got infected weeks ago. The people who die in America now are the ones who contracted it when reported corona virus cases were less than 10 000 people. So if you go by reported cases the way you define the "death rate", it is 10%.
Why does Europe have more deaths? Because it has been circulating in Southern Europe for many months already. It has nothing to do with "socialized medicine" (many of the countries you talk about do not have socialized medicine).
they break it out pretty well. I've been watching serious cases column, which seems a good predictor of death. Which sounds obvious, but all the Euro countries have had more serious cases for 2+ weeks, while our number is smaller than theirs. Something to be hopeful.
Exactly. People died because of Trump. He falsely said chloroquine was a cure, and a poor man died taking his advice. And I keep asking Trump supporters to list his wins, and because he hasn't done anything good for the country, all they tell me is, "You and your wife would have lost your job anyway." Wow, that's a vote of confidence for the Winner-in-Chief!

Not to rehash this argument, but he said that the criticism of his failure to take COVID19 seriously was a hoax. It turns out the criticism was spot-on.
