People have been warning of a major pandemic for decades. No one on either side of the aisle or private company has done much to prepare for one. We’re lucky this one “only” kills 2-4 percent of people.

I don't know if it a lie or not. But I am amazed that the government title and a suit is thought of as the critical element by some . And if a Team America World Police US Pandemic GI Joe team existed most of the world would be like it was last year.

Thus we got him this time, really

And btw...You can thank Bernie Sanders for some of the better things on the bill. Trump's entire family has been suckling off the teat of the taxpayer from day one with their personal form of grifter Socialism. And Trump's cronies will be lining their pockets on the taxpayer dime as well with their own corporate bailouts.
Congress wrote the bill. And if it were an all Republican Congress how much of the money would go to individuals vs. corporations? The Dems fought for every penny.

Doesn't really matter to me personally as we made too much in 2018 and 2019 to qualify. My husband's company cut his salary in half this week due to the slowdown, though.

Pharmacies are overrun with people getting prescriptions for the drug because they listened to trump. Meanwhile people who were already taking it for lupus or RA are having trouble getting their prescriptions filled.

Yep. Our totally irresponsible president has now put even more people at risk because of his abject stupidity.

Ok that is a different issue and I would agree with Trump being blamed for the false start and (possibly) false hope he has for chloroquine. The poster I replied to blamed Trump for the chloroquine used to clean fish water which was taken preventatively, without doctor care and basically was an overdose on chloroquine.

US underprepared for coronavirus due to Trump cuts, say health experts
Steps put in place after Ebola outbreak have been scrapped
Post of global health czar eliminated and CDC funding cut
What is coronavirus and how worried should we be?

There is no one in the White House tasked specifically to oversee a coordinated government-wide response in the event of a pandemic, since the post of senior director for global health security and biothreats on the national security council (NSC) was eliminated last May.

The office was established in 2016 after the outbreak of the Ebola virus in Africa demonstrated the US government was not set up to move with the speed and decisiveness necessary to react to a really lethal epidemic.

You are quoting a single event as opposed to the thousands or 10's of thousands of Americans who now posses either the chemical OR the pharma grade stuff off-label.

A dose of as little as 2X can kill - even with the good stuff. There is much more damage which could result from Trumps words (in MANY cases) then one incident.

Any insurance company or jury would likely say Trump has partial responsibility. That's the way tort works. Thinking that "it's all up to the person who slipped on the ice" is wrongheaded and does not reflect western law.

Also, when the POTUS and GOP and State TV put forward the "kill your elders" trial balloon - that is WAY past irresponsible and WILL end up killing people (for many reasons).

Think. People. Think.
