It's not politically brilliant.

You insult all American voters.

We know he's pandering for votes.

He's not subtle enough.

At least as far as the additional unemployment benefit goes, it's a big zero. Trump is not helping the situation, he is just muddying the waters. If you have been paying attention you know he isn't actually doing anything for the unemployed the way his EO is written.

Also, he made a big noise about 'the Democrats' but actually they had addressed these problems in a bill months ago, and McConnell refused to take it up, at all.

Everyone knows the states, all of the states, have had revenue shortfalls and public services are at risk. The Republicans refuse to address this issue, preferring instead to fund a new FBI building, of all things.

To rub salt in the wounds Trump's so-called EO expects the states to pony up a lot more money they certainly don't have. This is a stick in the eye kind of move, and although I know a lot of Trumpies will laugh about it and enjoy how their bad boy behaves, it is not helpful in this public health and economic crises. It actually makes Trump look less responsible and a little crazy.

His showboating in front of his customers doesn't help either. These people pay a $350,000 initiation fee and $25,000 per year to maintain the membership. These are not the general public who have to deal with the crises, they are the filthy rich who for the most part don't give a damn about you or I or the states in flyover country, but really appreciate those tax breaks Trump gave them.

The states forced the shut downs . They can pony the bill . Plain and Simple. The rest of the world is open . Only here politics being played are forcing people into breadlines .

Actually NO. So you can relax and appreciate that no one in need will get the help.

Trump does not have the unilateral authority to spend that money, and even if the congress had decided upon that specific plan (they wouldn't) the states do not have the 25% co-pay. I could be wrong but don't think any of the states do. (Certainly no red states have the extra money lying around, most of them are notoriously cheap on unemployment insurance benefits to begin with.)

In other words Trump is promising $300.00, not $400.00, and it is contingent upon the states coming up with $100.00. They don't have it, and Trump knows they don't have it.

No he didn't. You love him. And it doesn't matter what he does.

The only reason our country is doing so poorly with regard to the virus is Trump's poor leadership and people who support him who have no common sense and lack mature discipline.

The governors who shut down their states didn't want to do that, they had to. Some governors were crazy enough to follow Trump's lunatic urgings and opened up too soon, therefore many more people have become ill unnecessarily. People like you and I, people who trusted that maniac and got sick and died.

If Trump had taken this up as a responsible leader like the leadership in so many other countries he would have not only beaten the first wave of this virus like those other countries you are referring to, but he would have actually won the appreciation of the American people. Now he wants to buy their affection, but it's not working.

So you all think 400 is the point where people will NEED to go to work -- but 600 is too much?
