Then go vote early. My 81 year old grandmother does as do my parents.

A link to proprietary personal records? It is not going to happen. At best you would have to accept or deny eye witness testimony. And with basic operations, stuff that has been going on for 25 years when COVID hit suddenly becoming political the Hatch Act may apply.

We just got service talks about the 70,000 who are out nationwide and in hard hit areas we report to work in the morning and see the call in board as the supervisor tells us mandatory overtime as she tries to cover half of the routes being vacant that day and deciding which streets will only get parcels and no mail service.

yep, shameful. and they were rightly busted. And another election was held.

Same as the shameful activity of various folks in the NC GOP/legislature that clearly were going to use racial makeup in determining districts.

And I'm a NC GOP registered voter.

Default Trump admits his war on the USPS is an effort to restrict voting rights.

I have an idea.... let's all foil his dastardly plot by voting in person!!!

OK, so up to 10% of folks might be out due to COVID on a given day. The only figure I saw was from mid-April that said ~600 (0.1%) and I just guesstimated 10X that to get 1%.

And I would agree that IF that high a % of workers are out due to COVID, then some money should be apportioned from the Fed Gov't to help.

Add to the 10% that the service depended upon the overtime of about 30% who volunteered for it just to handle basic operations

“The Postal Service routinely moves equipment around its network as necessary to match changing mail and package volumes. Package volume is up, but mail volume continues to decline. Adapting our processing infrastructure to the current volumes will ensure more efficient, cost effective operations and better service for our customers.“

Trump wants to treat the post office like a business! Losing billions a year AIN'T good business!

I have a very hard time believing T ever grad. college legitimately. He can barely form a coherent sentence. His lack of written and verbal skills are astounding. I actually wonder if T did anything legitimately. Most NY'ers know what a scam artist he is.
Do they? There are about 19,378,102 people in NY, and you know "most" of them to know if they like him or not? Did they always not like him or was it just when he became president? I lived there for awhile, decades ago, and I never heard anyone complain about him, never.

Fewer letters being mail means fewer blue collection boxes are needed and fewer processing machines are needed. Each of which demands its own operating and maintenance staff. What is left can easily handle the capacity even if every American resident child and adult had a ballot mailed to her. All of this infrastructure and capacity has been systematically cut back and consolidated into more central locations for a quarter century.

Dropping those clerks and mechanics have decimated the ranks, particularly of the American Postal Workers Union members, those whose institutional knowledge could not be replicated back in 1970 and resulted in the union victory in the wildcat strikes against the US Post Office Department
