The camera guy continued to push the clerk after he told him about his mental illness. But sure, the customer is always right. Good ole Boomer logic!
Shouldn't be working a hotel desk if you really have a mental illness. And i'm not a boomer.
Again, this all stemmed from the fact that the hotel and/or the clerk gave the camera guy bad service. He didn't just go in there to "bully" somebody. And he merely asked a question and the guy flipped out.
But again, the point was that people were askingabout was why the camera guy would film and put it on social media...the answer is so that he can get in front of any potential he said/she said about the clerk beating himself and breaking electronics. people will automatically believe a black person was violent, the black camera guy documented the incident himself and saved himself from THAT type of drama. Now you have people like you and others, reaching for "mental knockout game" fantasies and trying to label the camera guy a bully after he got bad service.
Let's not pretend, he didn't hit himself all that hard. No real pain. He wanted real pain, he could have hit that guy, and see what would happen to him. When people throw fits like that, it's a weird form of attention seeking. Like when a toddler cries.
Please stop and spend 10 minutes reading about self harm and mental illness before continuing to post nonsense like this.
It is not about how hard or not hard he hit himself this time. Self harm almost always escalates. Cutters cut deeper. Hitters start using hammers and breaking bones.
Self harm strangely make a person who is suffering feel better, but you are wrong that it is like a tantrum or that it is attention seeking. Tantrums stem from immaturity. Self harm stems from deep emotional distress and often exists in correlation with suicidal ideation.

You are so wrong. The filmmer edited the part previously where he was berating and calling the clerk names. The screw up with the reservation was not something the clerk could fix. The system wouldn't allow it. Not unlike calling for a dr appt and once you get to the office - they don't have you on their schedule or calling a restaurant for a reservation but once you get there - your reservation is not in their system.
Mistakes happen and often a person you take your frustrations out on - was not involved. Your guy needs anger management.

Nope, wrong. The error in the system with the reservation was no fault of the employee's. He tried fixing it and the system wasn't allowing him to make the change. That's when the person filming got loud, played the race card, and accused him of taking his money. I have stated this many times: the clerk clearly still needs to work on his issues and needs more help. But the man filming the clerk heard him tell him he had a mental illness when he hit the computer and that it wasn't geared towards him. The person filming it took it personal and continued to push this man to the edge, with total disregard.
Now we have people like you, cowering behind that crap logic of "the customer is always right BS" when it's clear that you either A) Support losers like this man tossing the race card around for every little thing, or B) Are too scared to admit the camera man was at fault because you'll be labeled a racist, or C) You're just as bad and you yourself use the race card.
Weak argument with the "they'll assume the black guy was violent." It's 2021 - All he needs to do is play the race card and he's won the game; he basically has. Despite that clerk getting $120K for that GoFundMe, the amount of people on that guy's Twitter account, and even on here, dismissing mental illness and thinking it's ok to harass people that way, it's just absurd. That clerk immediately knew he screwed up and even began to cry. And that jerk still heckled him.

The motel likely had cameras in their lobby; I doubt anyone could get away with "blaming the black guy."
In the past, instead of hitting himself, someone who was beaten for anxiety might actually punch the CUSTOMER instead of himself. How would that be? The fact that he is restraining himself from assaulting the source of his distress says a great deal, considering how clearly upset he is.
If you are classified as mentally ill and hit someone you can spend years in a psych hospital. Really. I knew a guy who spent the last 4 years of his life in the hospital after throwing a thermometer at a nurse. Even if they let you out they do when they have pumped you full of so many drugs that you can barely think. You get fat grow boobs, drool, twitch, get diabetes and die young.

i already said the hotel and/or the clerk's fault.
DID YOU READ MY POST?
again, the camera guy got bad service, he didn't go there just to bully somebody. And upon getting that bad service the clerk became aggressive and violent. So the camera guy wisely filmed and protected HIMSELF from any potential legal troubles. He made sure to get out ahead of any he said/she said about any injuries or damage to electronics. That's why he filmed it and put it on social media.
Stop reaching to blame anybody but the hotel and the clerk. The clerk clearly shouldn't have been hired for that position. The hotel's system is trash and they need to review their hiring practices. The camera guy merely took responsibility via documentation to protect himself.
edit: and you must not know what forums you are on. People here think there's a thing called the "knockout game" where black people allegedly knockout random people for fun. People just assume black people are violent. And especially if it's a white person vs black person situation, people are going to just assume the black person started it. It happens on here regularly, without any real information people will come up with some hollywood action scenario about some fight they saw that started in the middle of the fight.

If this were true, there would be no reason to post the video to social media.
