How long are people allowed to avoid rent and how long are landlords supposed to not collect rent.
I am sure there are a few legitimate cases where Covid has caused real financial hardship but this moratorium is full of abuse and it is time to end.

Everyone is hiring and paying decent money for unskilled work. Gas station near me in a low crime area pays 17 starting with benefits. Casinos, amazon etc all offering bonuses and overtime. People are lazy and don't want to work. Theres an entire segment of society praying the free money becomes permanent. Which also happens to be what some democrats ran on. I knew the idea of replacing traditional welfare with ubi was never going to happen. Ubi is intended to be more redistribution.

Yikes, talk about a man with no sympathy. No wonder 50% of Americans ignore him and refuse to get a vaccine, he has yet to make any good decision and has broken every promise. I can see the buyers remorse from Democrats now.
So...Bidens illegals, will be looking out the window, down on homeless Americans on the street, from their 4 star paid hotel room.

yikes, talk about a post with no truth. Biden tried to get this done but the votes in Congress were not there. This was not a choice that he made, he just accepted the reality that the Supreme Court said that Congressional action was needed to extend this.

And almost 70 percent of adults have been vaccinated with at least one shot. So your claims regarding that are just as fact free as the other part of your post.

Sad fact considering Congress is Democrate territory, but will not support Joe.

If Congress just rubber stamped everything a President does, there would be no need for it to exist. I'm not sure which Reps didn't support this, but they are all individuals who are allowed to have opinions of their own - and the voters get to decide whether or not to keep them in office based on those opinions.

Point taken. But Dems. do weird stuff, and just maybe, they don't care for the man.

I do feel sorry for the landlords who are stuck paying all the bills for the freeloaders who freely decided not to pay rent since they couldn’t be evicted.

Like most Americans, most of these people are very short sighted since they’re thinking that I’ll just pocket all the rent money and wait to be evicted. The problem here is that after this BS, future landlords/renters will be very careful who they rent to for now on AND demand high as hell security deposits. Yes, there will be a few apartment complexes that will roll the dices on somebody that was evicted, but often, these are places where you don’t want to live since your new neighbors will basically be people like them and not give a “sheet” about anything.

I’m sure the media will gin up some sad story on these people being evicted, but with not report the truth or hold these people responsible for their own poor choices. As said before, several landlords have renters not paying rent, but are now seeing them driving brand new cars/SUVs and trucks.

Well, if these people are smart… Again, if they were, this wouldn’t be needed, but they should start moving most of their “sheet” into a storage unit now and immediately stated looking for a new rental property TODAY before the few places that will take evicted, non paying/risky renters are flooding them with new rental requests.

I’m sure that many courts will start granting forced evictions within the next 30-60 days and I’m pretty sure most landlords/property owners will be demanding, LEGALLY and LAWFULLY, anywhere from 80% to 100% of the back rent, WITHIN hours of a court date, plus any and all court cost to stop the eviction process. But, I’d bet many landlords/property owners just want these people gone off THEIR PROPERTY as soon as possible.

This is what happens when the government gets involved in civil matters. Honestly, I’m sure most landlords would have accepted anywhere from 70% to 80% of their monthly rent AND write-off the rest as a lost. But now, they know who are the risky renters and will do everything that is legal to get rid of them.

So, in the Big Picture, people just screwed themselves royally.

They already know they will be bailed out by the government. I know in California newsolini won't be allowing more homeless right before he is recalled.

If you can’t take care of yourself and are not a benefit to society, you should not exist. Sorry if that offends all the bleeding hearts out there.

Will those same bleeding hearts open up their homes and wallets and take care of these potential homeless people? Of course not, but they want “them” to pay for those people. Not sure who “them” is? If you are talking about me, forget about it.
Or you know here's a wild idea: give people who can work a decent job so they can actually freakin take care of themselves!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good enough to use, good enough to pay for.
His cheap arse does not deserve sympathy. Come on. There is no reason I should pay my rent. I should have been sending his jerk face a bill for the electricity. Why should he get all the perks and we struggle to pay the rent?

Landlords have also taken advantage of renters long enough all in the face of greed. Be responsible and stop charging so much damn money.

Rent is paid but only because of Section 8 and it's a struggle.
So give me those jobs that you claim people don't want to work at?

Meanwhile you got me over here who actually wants to WORK at work and not just get paid to be a prisoner.

Yeah no to that one though. I'm going to pass on that one unless you want me to break every single one of those machines.

Perhaps I have become lazy but I'm tired. Jobs are often either the equivalent of being a caged zoo animal with nothing to do but stare at the wall or I'm just not good enough for them.

I don't want to apply anymore. I'm tired of hearing nothing but "we went with another candidate good luck on your future endeavors"

I agree! Landlords have mortgages, taxes, maintenance, repairs, utilities, and wear and tear on their properties! Biden did something right, for a change!! NO student loan forgiveness either! Many who borrowed have well paying professions and jobs and should pay off their student debt. Many partied instead of studying and flunked out! I'm okay with reducing their interest rates, but pay what you owe people!
