well you're right....Cubans that came to Miami during Mariel. He has an insurance company in Hialeah....been here 50 years...and can not communicate in English
They grew up in Hialeah...and now live in Doral
His wife's sister is married to a Cuban....that does not speak or understand one word of English
From what I understand you can't even get a job in Miami unless you can speak Spanish. WTH?
Latinos influx into this country is large and constant. It's much cheaper for them to have children here (especially with welfare systems in place) and they greatly outnumber other races when it comes to birthrates.
All of their children born and raised here will speak ENGLISH, not Spanish.

Is this trend going to slow down or ramp up?
Wouldn't bother me. I know all the Spanish I need to: "Yo quiero Taco Bell". Done.

I don't know, but I speak Spanish and English so either ways it's cool by me.
Well if you can find it somewhere Bill Maher had that answer from the President of Mexico sometime I think it was between 2000 and 2014. Not sure when exactly it aired on the Bill Maher show on HBO. The man he spoke to via Satellite outlined his plans to make America spanish speaking. I can't remember exactly but I think he said about 20 to 30 years from then. He also said there would be a lot more Spanish people in America. When Trump ran for POTUS that episode was taken off YouTube.
Fast forward to somewhere between 2000 and 2014 I'm sitting home watching Bill Maher on HBO, nothing else better to do, and he has via satellite a man from Mexico as a guest. I think was their President saying or actually more like outlining his plans to have all Spanish people in America and to have America speaking all Spanish withing 20 to 30 years from then. It wasn't planned for the new Spanish people coming in from that time on to assimilate and learn English as many others did in the 70's and further back. I believe he was right about his plans, but he didn't anticipate the American public would resist being forced to change their language from English to Spanish. This was planned way before admitted to on Bill Maher. I know Spanish and many of them speak both languages.
When I heard this on Bill Maher's show I got a flashback of when I was told it was planned by our government back in 1972 that it was planned to have Americas all Spanish speaking and we were told that is why we need to learn Spanish, children will have to learn Spanish in Schools when they didn't have to back in 1972. The we were told we would in a 2 to 3 years see a thing called the bar codes on all out-grocery packages.
I think most 2nd generation will switch to English, but the cult of victimhood is already moving towards special protected status for those who don't speak English.
