The only people who's lives are improved by less government overhead are the wealthy
False.

The government overhead is passed on to consumers. The end consumer pays that government overhead in the form of inflation and higher consumer prices. All of it. And more. Guess which class of people are disproportionately consumers?

This. Why do leftists insist on pissing away other people's money? The likes of Bernie and Elizabeth Warren and even AOC have plenty of their own money to **** away.

The short answer to the original question: NEVER. Taxes should NEVER be raised under any circumstances.

what does your average citizen pay in payroll, etc taxes for their single payer?

why would subsidizing college (community college maybe) greatly improve the life of the average citizen?

Can not your "average citizen" get loans and work their way through school, starting with a CC degree and then finishing at a 4-year school if their interest and acumen warrant it?

Your responses are proof of it. It's all emotion and hyperbole with you. You're literally demonstrating how much class envy you have and it's sad. What's stopping you from making more income to improve your life? You have the ability to get out there and create more wealth for yourself. Instead you pathetically demand the rich "pay their fair share," and all jobs should pay this specific figure, and yet you yourself can't even give us a number.

I know how marginal rates work, which is what that poster spelled out in the part of his post you edited out.

Receiving capital gains is theft. Money just doesn’t magically multiply itself because you have some to spare.

If I give someone some money and tell them on payday to take $1 from each guy at a factory and he can have a portion of what he takes that is the same as “investing†and capital gains. I am giving someone some money he takes the revenue generated by employees and gives me some of that in return. I did no further work to earn that extra money, and the people who truly generated that money now get less. It just has a pretty term to make you feel special.

Spoken like a true Socialist.

I watched that episode when she had my man Jon Taffer on there. I can tell by your last two comments that you didn't pay attention to what they both said at all. Especially since you're using Yahoo News to cite her claims.

Why are you so obsessed with this? Self driving cars have been a thing for years now and haven't advanced that much since companies like Tesla and Google began experimenting with them. At best these companies have gotten as far is implementing small vehicles to self drive around pre-planned/enclosed areas/courses to complete simple mundane tasks. IE: Google using small self driving cars to aid their workers update geographical locations for Google Maps.

What the hell is wrong with you? Did it ever occur to you that some people are renting because they would either not own a home, or they might be saving up to purchase a home and renting is a temporary solution? Two of my friends and my boss and his fiance were apartment renters for this exact reason, and they're all homeowners now. My Lord, please seek therapy. Every one of your arguments is nothing but built-up hatred for others who are clearly doing better than you. You seem to be harboring a lot of anger and jealousy towards people who worked hard and are successful because of it. Jealousy is an ugly trait.

So every charity fund out there is really just a money-laundering scheme at it's core? Grow up.

Everyone says "cut spending". What do you think ought to be cut? Can we start with the military? We could cut $300 billion out of that budget and never notice.
we could probably cut $100B, but what about the other $900B (pre-Covid spending and everything Biden wants)?
