Not exactly.
Under Biden, the whole concocted earlier by Brzesinsky plan (under Obama I believe) of cutting Ukraine away from Russia went ahead.

Putin, who continued Yeltsin's neo-liberal approach to economy, initiated in Russia by the neo-liberal Clintons back in the 90ies, was clinging to that economy intertwined with the West, and thus he chickened out to respond to this brazen move of Americans accordingly.
Which only led to the further escalation of the conflict, which brought the full-blown war, that was inevitable since 2014. ( But back in 2014 it could have been won easily by Russia, with no immense blood loss that we see today.)

So no matter what speeches do they make - both Biden and Putin - their joint actions brought this war and loss of life.

Have to ask, 2+ years into this is this what you thought would be the situation today in the war?

I cannot imagine anyone is happy with the huge losses and damage.

Please note, this is not written from either side of the conflict.

True, all of that
Russia has blundered into a conflict that they must now win! Losing this war would mean losing Crimea and for Russia that is nearly unthinkable. They have put themselves in a situation where they must spend $4B a month in hopes of getting back to where they were in January of 2022, when they held Crimea and were secure. Back then, a poorly armed Ukraine had no hope of attacking Russia in Crimea; today, they have weapons that would attack Crimea daily if need be - and more air weapons are coming.

You really think Russia might lose Crimea with Putin in office? It seems far fetched especially after the failed spring offensive.

Before the beginning of the war, the West also openly admitted the Nazi nature of the Ukrainian regime and its crimes. Then, all of a sudden it was all hidden, webpages on the Guardian etc. were deleted.

The whole world has already realized that the West is an official Nazi bloc again.
