you really can't make this **** up

"California residents are being told not to charge their electric vehicles due to possible blackouts just one week after the state announced it would ban the sale of gas-powered cars in 2035."

"The state issued a heat advisory Tuesday, warning excessive heat “will stress [the] energy grid.”

“Consumers are urged to reduce energy use from 4-9 p.m. when the system is most stressed because demand for electricity remains high and there is less solar energy available,” the state said in the notice. “The top three conservation actions are to set thermostats to 78 degrees or higher, avoid using large appliances and charging electric vehicles, and turn off unnecessary lights.”

Plug in the car after peak hours end at 9 p.m.? I've been doing this for years with my large appliances.

What is wrong with these Bozos that fail to use common sense and act accordingly?

The wealthier areas of Cal. like Pacific Palisades will take care of themselves. They have the money and political clout to make sure there are enough working EV chargers in the area.

But for many Californians this forced move from gas to EV may well turn into a serious problem.

All of this California sun/wind (Santa Anas) in the current heat wave and we can't even meet electrical demand from our solar panels and wind farms. Darn it!

I guess we'll purchase energy from fossil fuel burning plants in neighboring states.

When the "leadership" has a collective IQ in the single digits, this is the sort of thing to expect. But then you guys in paradise voted them in, didn't you? Have fun walking.

I should have been more specific. Allow me to clarify. I avoid using the oven, dishwasher, and clothes washer during peak hours. Some electric appliances must continue running around the clock as you point out.
